***Cup Winners v Villa Official Match Thread***

So today brings the curtain down on the managerial reign of Pep Guardiola. A decade of unbridled success, probably never to be repeated again. 17 trophies, or 20 if you include Charity Shields, is a remarkable accomplishment. And it’s not just the trophies.

He has changed the way we play football and indeed how the rest of the country now try to play football. Building from the back and possession football is now the philosophy of a huge number of teams, not just in the PL but across the football pyramid. And remember when he came and every pundit and the media said you wouldn’t have success playing that type of football in England? Well, they were wrong. Massively

We have a great record against Villa, especially at home where we have won 19/20 home PL games including the last 15. We also have a good record in the last PL fixture of the season, winning 8/9 under Pep so far, the only blemish being a defeat at Brentford

And Haaland will hopefully secure the Golden Boot today as well. Currently on 27. I suppose a hat trick to take him to 30 is wishful thinking?

Assume the club will have a celebration planned for after the game. As we know it’s also time to say farewell to Silva and Stones. Two brilliant players for us over the years. It will be quite the emotional occasion I should think. And hopefully they will get the send off they deserve

History says we should win and form says we should as we are unbeaten in 15. Got a feeling we will go out in style

5-0 Haaland (2) Foden Savinho Marmoush

I think the Hammers are nailed on to go down
Spuds won’t lose today and that’s enough. And West Ham probably won’t win either

Shame

Late equalisers against a crap chavs and a crappy spuds didn't help either. The last games compacted into a couple of weeks weren't optimal.

The less said about that game, the better.

The farewell ceremony after it was good though.

In a year of VAR stitch ups I thought we'd get one in our favour when it didn't matter but the Foden disallowed goal was the worst one yet.
They put the line on the screen and he was clearly onside.
Unbelievable atmosphere, as you say the farewell part was fantastic and the new Pep Guardiola Stand looked superb.

I wasn't just me then?

I thought I must have missed something because Foden was well onside when they put it on the screen..

And TBH Watkin's first looked well offside to me.
