I’m sure our hierarchy will have a plan in place.

My thoughts too. Doubt it involves Maresca. I fucking hope not.

Same mate. How’s the Harry’s tour to Derry coming along.

The owners have done very little wrong and so I'm happy to back them. If they had this in mind as a succession plan then thats what we will get. Seems unlikely as why replace Pep with a lesser version of himself. The style needs to evolve not just be copied. I'm hopeful there is another plan

Pound to a penny it was Maresca's "little circle" that leaked it - City knew about this for months, Id imagine, so it more than likely wouldn't have been anyone from there.

Anyway, no one will ever admit it.

Fabrizio Romano has just tweeted Maresca has agreed a 3 year deal.
Pellers was a short term option before Pep and it seems Maresca will probably then do 2 years before Vinny I reckon if he continues as he has been.
With you on the owners totally.

Maresca hardly fills me with optimism.

Sure he got Leicester up first time of asking. My paranoid Brain is hoping this is not part of the hierarchy reasoning making his appointment

I can understand the Club wanting to continue with a similar style of passing Football. Hopefully not as dull and insipid as Pep last 2 Seasons have been with us.

Even with the 2 Cup wins and Title campaign there can not be a City fan who thinks we are anywhere near what we once were. Why i think it has been an excellent Season all things considered. And if we do go on and win the Title it will be very close to the Aguero 93.20 in terms of achievement given we are nowhere near the real deal yet and transitioning. Where as Arsenal have an established side. Kind of ironic i was actually hoping Pep would do his last season, as he was showing signs of changing as we saw in the FA Cup final. I think Pep 2.0 next to him was starting to have an impact.

Been a great ride with Pep though. He gave us some beautiful Football,17 major Trophies, our best ever moments as a City fans. Rightly he has become a City legend. Will have a Stand named after him. The new Guy is on a hiding to nothing as it stands unless he hits the ground running. Pep sycophants don't want him, and the rest of us are underwhelmed at the moment. We need to get behind him as we did with Pellegrini. Highly likely his 3 Year contract is just to keep all 4 Wheels on the Road and the Club playing similar style football until a more illustrious Manager becomes available. Fact is there is not a good Manager Pool to choose from at the moment. Look at Madrid taking back Mourinho. I am glad that was not us.

Obviously Maresca could make the Job his own permanently over the next 3 years, Transition should not be that difficult given Pep and his style are very similar. Hearing Elliot Anderson is a done deal and has been for months. He must have known about the change coming surely. Behind the scenes Maresca must already be making inputs.

Reading a lot of the " Sky is falling in" on other sites. One Woman has just had A Baby and will be making a Pep Memory Box for her. Another Guy credits Pep with helping cure his Cancer. Like the end of the World for some.

If you are feeling a bit down try and stay positive City will be here long after every manager comes and goes, regardless who they are.,Maresca appointment could turn in to a Fairy Story. If we are not to win the Title this Season, as looks likely .It was more to do with us throwing it away losing 17-19 points from winning positions than us not being good enough. A new Set Piece coach a couple of Tier 1 quality midfielders. A manager similar to Pep but not as stubborn. Who knows where we will end up. Just enjoy the ride that is being a Blue.

It doesn't work out then we implement plan A which will be Maresca was keeping the Seat warm for Vinny or Enriuqe.

At least we are not Madrid.

Disapointed but not suprised, felt he was going for a while now.
Maresca has to be given a chance, but my word its a massive job for him to follow Pep. Hopefully the fans are patient, I think we will need to be.
Very interesting to see what moves we make in the summer, 2 midfielders, a right back and wide player are needed Pep going probably doesnt really change that. Silver lining here is that Maresca might get Trafford to stay, I for one do not want to see him go.

In fairness most are judging Maresca from his time at Chelsea.
Chelsea's owners are famous for knowing better than the manager in football matters and constantly poking their noses in.
City's owners are the opposite.

I agree with you regards Trafford.

Would be stupid to let him go in my opinion.

I don't think we are that far off becoming a really good side again tbh

This "is he going Staying saga" has definitely impacted us these last 2/3 Seasons. Even our last Title win similar speculation was going on in the background. I think that is part of the reason our squad has glaring inadequacies.

We never brought in an adequate alternative to Rodr regardless of his injury leaving us wilfully exposed in midfield .Bernadso should have left with KDB we all know it. Peps best mate he stayed to the detriment of the Team these last 2 seasons. Far too slow. Part of the reason we have struggled in the middle for 2 seasons. We literally got left with Kovacic as an alternative to Phil. It all got a bit too chummy.

The set Piece Coach/Fitness Coaches should be first out of the Door after Pep also. No need to go on about why, just watch our corners and fitness levels in games.

2 Tier 1 midfielders/Winger new set piece Coach/proper training.

Maresca might shock a few next season.

I’d rather see Pep go than Khaldoon — without missing a heartbeat. Khaldoon is the engine of the entire operation, now and for the long term. The only time I’ll start fucking worrying and bleating is the day he eventually leaves ! So whoever comes in next will be stepping into the perfect model. Pep had every tool he needed to succeed — and the next manager will have exactly the same.

I went for a very long time thinking I'd never see City win another trophy as long as I lived. Dragging my eldest to all sorts of embarrassing games, undaunted

But we've won a couple now, so from here I'll take anything that comes

And thanks Pep. And to those who brought him

We have the pick of many. Why Maresca? Why not Vinny? If we are to have someone with connections to the club. What Maresca did at Chelsea fills me with dread

Sources, sources, sources all before two very important games. Yet City say nothing. I think any decision on Pep seeingnoutnhos contract will be at board level, a level that wont disclose.

Maresca is in the sidelines, but don't think he will know at this point Peps decision.

Sources, spiralled out of control. Will believe it when I read it direct from City.

Right, most likely he will go, and honestly, I think this is the right time.

First of all, he is the best coach we have ever had. The trophies, the football, everything he achieved here will forever remain at the very top. From my point of view, the 2019 domestic treble side was the greatest generation English football has seen in the Premier League era. I don’t think he will ever receive the recognition he truly deserves because of the biased media and the narratives built around the club, but we were lucky enough to witness it and those memories will stay with us forever.

I think he was an incredible “marathon” coach: someone who always knew when to push, when to strike, and how to prepare his team so they would peak at exactly the right moment. At the same time, in my opinion, he was not always as strong when it came to in-game decisions that could completely change a match, finding a real Plan B, or handling all or nothing cup situations.

As a person, there’s nothing more to say, everything has already been said about him.

I just hope that when he leaves, he will continue to respect the fans and the club. Because for everything he gave to this club, he also received even more from the people above.
