Nice dignified message to the fans though. Proper legend. Absolute class.

There is no replica for De Bruyne's genius just like there is no duplicate of Bernardo. And yet the latter goes completely against the grain of the profile of new-age midfielders. He is not tall in stature nor physically imposing. Joking in a video with team-mate Ruben Dias just last week he stated: "I don't do gym - that's for the guys that don't know how to play with the ball."

If it was possible, I think I love him a little bit more

He was absolutely monstrous yesterday. We are going to miss everything about him. Losing such quality characters every year.

This is one player you need the door opened for.

I hope he stays, he is not a gündo type.

He's literally made a statement saying he's leaving?

He's never ever made a statement saying he's officially leaving. His contract is up in a few months.

I think that he'll be going. It's the first time the club has announced he's to leave at the end of a season. The rest each year has been media bollox, as they tend to do with many of our players every season.

100% he's going. The club have announced it, he has announced it, why are people clutching at straws?

Where is he going to go? Can't see it being another PL club.
I can see another Gundo here a player who leaves and eventually regrets it. I know there are probably personal issues at play, but he has a lot more in him yet, he should be staying. It's a very short career.

I've spent more than half a season reading on here that his legs are gone and that he shouldn't be in the first team I'm going to predict he will go somewhere with fewer physical demands. Both he and his wife are Portuguese and he has stated a desire to finish his career in Portugal so I expect a move to Portugal. Benfica is his boyhood team isn't it?

Saw on the BBC that he was linked with Arsenal as they were making enquiries. I mean wtf, are they daft. The only way he goes there is if they offer him £1m a week.
