When last did the club sign full backs? Mendy? Cancelo? We've played for too long with a dependency on Walker on the right and a stop gap on the left. Mendy was great for his first 6 games then got injured and we made do with Delph and when Mendy came back he was awful but we've just made to since then. For a club which attempts to win all competitions it finds itself in we have a tendency to be reliant on individuals in crucial positions, Rodri at DCM, Walker at RB, Haaland at CF. There is no cover for these players, they get no rest, they get injured, our game plan goes to shit. The cry from me is round oegs for round holes.

I’ll be gobsmacked if we don’t buy a Right Back in the Summer although Nunes did ok. It’s one thing to sweep across as cover, quite another to being playing man to man on the flank while trying to get up the pitch to help the attack. Totally different and demanding position. Looks like we still have our eyes on Cambiaso. Khusanov and Dias are shaping up to be a very decent CB pairing.
