Too young to have seen him play, only ever known of his stature as a figurehead of old. Same as I knew Bell, Lee and Summerbee. Part of the tapestry of Manchester football, so there will be no snide words from me. Rest in peace.

I think even I was too late to see his best, but deserves respect. And within days of Franny

He was playing for United when I first started watching City, we were in second division then, but he was a good player and one of those that didn’t get involved in any controversy. That said it was all round Manchester at the time that George Best didn’t get on with him.
I know he was a rag, but this bring back memories of some happy days. RIP Bobby Charlton

I probably most remember the 70 world cup. What an England team that was
And if only Banks hadn't got injured

Ah, that's right. You used to live around there!
Will be my first time in Haverhill. I'm keeping my expectations low

My first "real" job after uni was as a journalist for a local paper. We had plenty of articles more or less ready to print for the most famous people in our region (of a certain age).

Scored a cracker against Mexico in the WC opening match 66. Great player and a nice guy , did lots of work in the City. Even presented me with e couple of medals.

Chalk and cheese. Funny things used to happen in those days. My grandad and his brother Frank were foremen at Barnes mill in Oldham. Grandad was 5 ft 5, 17st and round. Uncle Frank was 6ft 2 and thin as a rake. Grandad smooth skin, Frank completely wrinkled.
Just sayin
