And surprise surprise BBC are reporting the total “City bid £90m”
When did including add-ons that might never come to fruition become normal? Is it only for City?

Apparently we weren't going to bid unless we knew for sure he was willing to come to us. Interesting

West Ham looking for 100 million total. I doubt we’ve heard the last word from either Arsenal or City.

Possibly why we delayed the bid? Waiting for his team to confirm.

Doubt we are in for him without his team confirming that he would be interested in coming? To Mases's earlier post, Beeb already stating that the Arse are looking at a french kid as an alternative to Rice. Think us nabbing him may tip Arteta over the edge

Arsenal come in with 100 plus 5. City have to propose faster payments, more credible add ons or walk. One last shove? Arsenal may be prepared to go to 110 million for all I know. Are there credible overseas alternatives that we can get at a much cheaper price?

Obviously Txiki and Pep consider Rice a much better player than Lavia at this stage of his career. That’s why they’ve bid 90 plus 5. Phillips on loan to West Ham might be a sweetener since Phillips doesn’t want to leave. If City make a second bid it won’t be 110. More likely faster repayments and more credible top ups. Still Txiki has shown he’s prepared to walk away before.

They’ve shown interest in Borges as well.

Kimmich and Bennacer aren’t available it seems. Both excellent. What about Aleix Garcia of Girona or Zubimendi of Real Sociedad?

Neither at those prices
But I'd say Rice is at this stage better than Lavia. By a long way. That's not to say Lavia won't overtake him at some point, but he's only had one season and an OK one at that. £40m is a lot for potential the same as £110 for Rice is overpriced
