Pep is a total bell for not making subs tonight, our game was screaming for fresh legs.
Foden should have came on for gundo who looked fucked and was running like an 89 year old.

Quite a few changes for the Everton match. Laporte Mahrez Foden Alvarez for starters. God I hope Ake is fit for the return leg.

Based on City's previous European two-legged knockout ties, starting with a 1-1 away draw in the first leg saw them progress to the next round on both occasions.
Based on all Real Madrid's previous European two-legged knockout ties, starting with a 1-1 home draw in the first leg saw them being eliminated in five of the previous six occasions.

TalkSPORT -
And on the stroke of half time, Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos was cautioned for a wild hack on Ilkay Gundogan. However, talkSPORT’s Adrian Durham and Stuart Pearce believe Kroos was fortunate to get just a yellow.
“That is a sending off challenge from Kroos,” Pearce said on commentary for talkSPORT.
“That’s a clear red card. This is outrageously bad refereeing and this could cost Man City,” Durham added.

Akanji was solid enough. Not a lot came from their right

Grealish needs to get his head out of the stars in the return game.

Ake is really important in our build up. Akanji is ok as a stopper but he’s right footed. Ake far better in possession. I suspect Ake won’t be available next week.

I liked his interview. Comes across very well for me. Honest and quite obviously loving his time with us and wanting to do the best he can for himself and the team

Oh, I love the bloke and he is undergoing a steep learning curve. Just want him to get rid of the emotional stuff on the pitch and play to his best for the majority of games.
He can bring so much.

Ducking hate Real, always cheating football. Remind me of the Rags and Dippers.
Yea I hate them too along with the other members of the Cartel that you have just mentioned .

No way he could take Grealish off - the guys ball retention is brilliant and just what's needed against them. Gundo struggled as has been said but Silva was shocking tonight. Losing the ball for fun, making the wrong decisions and giving away stupid, dangerous free kicks.
Ederson was great as was Dias. That's a really good result, we've not lost at home in Europe for 5 years.
