Only saw MotD highlights so you can't tell. Obviously fluffed his lines in an important moment when clear through on goal by not passing when he should have done. But that aside, is the old Phil there?

Foden was moving well , running well and fast. He could have released the ball quicker sometimes , but he got to the bye line a couple of times and the cross wasn't just right .

It is as if the club have told the players, you assist haarland and you get a big bonus . They are all trying it. Foden had absolutely no reason not to shoot when in the one on one in the second half, yet he tried to lay it off to Erling unnecessarily.

OK. Sounds more promising than what he has produced of late

Wouldn't say it was unnecessary to lay it to Haaland as that's the percentage play. He probably scores that 98/100 whereas Foden shooting and scoring will be a lower figure.

he was ahead of haarland and any pass laid on for him would have been taken by the oncoming defender . More to the point , it was a one on one , he should have shot to his left .

Either way. Should have been the cushion of the second goal. A very poor passage of play.

Three at the back does not make Rodri miss a free header; it does not make Foden fall flat on his fucking face when two on one in their box; it does not make Haaland twat it over the bar from seven yards; it does not make Kev scuff numerous shots miles wide when others are better placed to score. Blaming the formation is missing the point. In fact, the extra forward player helps a lot.

I believe concentration and humility are needed but they were in very short supply today. It needs putting right v Leipzig but we know from experience that it can be done. Come on, boys.

Similar to my thoughts, mate. IMO, the reason why Pep is fixed with 3 at the back is because he wants that extra work rate in midfield as Haaland does not do what he wanted the likes of Sergio to do. I think he’d prefer to have Alvarez up there but no way can you drop Haaland.

It’s a puzzle for Guardiola that he’s trying to fix. Changing our players mentality, and his, from passing it through the lines to now looking up for the runs that Haaland now brings.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

The comment about Haaland makes no sense Beefy. If Pep is going 3 at the back because Haaland doesn’t do what Aguero did, why didn’t Pep go 3 at the back when he first came and Aguero didn’t work “hard”.

Haaland does exactly what Aguero did, as shown against Arsenal. Haaland worked his nuts off, running back, running in behind, dragging two players with him.

Pep’s been obsessed with this 3 at the back for some time now. He’s tried it every season for about 3 years, except he’s realised it doesn’t work and gone back to what does work. This season though he seems hellbent on not giving it up.

Cucurella Is a LWB, so he always had this plan it seems.

Apparently we’ve dropped 11 points from winning positions this season. Disgraceful if true.

Agree with everything, hit the nail on the head. Pep needs a fucking kick as well. Does his coaching staff not offer him suggestions? Or has he just got yes men in his team, one thing's for sure he has a good bench and he needs to use it

Yes it is. Yesterday , Villa Away, Everton Home, Newcastle away all leading and drew and Rags screw job.

3 of them 1-1 think the opposition only had one shot on target.

No mention of the Haaland pull back and possible red or penalty on MotD. Also did not even show the possible Laporte penno.

We will not be allowed to win the league this year guys - simple fact and today's game showed it. This is exactly what Pep means when he says we need to be perfect to win. We will get nothing from the refs for the rest of the season, so we will simply need to outscore everyone from open play.

The thing with the 3 at the back is it seems to crowd the centre of the pitch. End up with Rodri, Bernie, Kev and Gundo all fighting for the same space.
As soon as we went back 4 against arse it seemed to bring them more in to the game and we had loads more space in the middle of the park

Imagine if those were on Van Dick or Nunez….they would show it from every possible angle

In Paris atm, met some big marseille fan who know his shit. Loves pep. He was going on about lillo too.

Went on a solo trip that was for my shitty ex. Enjoyed it, miles more friendly than I thought they would. 10x better than the Spanish.

Borell and Maresca don’t look as capable as Lilo.
After their goal, he said something to Maresca and he was saying nothing.

Losing him is really a huge problem

The frustration comes from knowing the opposition will have one chance and score from it.

Laportes free header was prob the easiest miss of the game.

Very frustrating. Think rather hand arsenal the title now than have the rags bag one.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get the money on a rag title, the powers that be have decided, after Rashford goal v city, they get away with that they get away with anything, for me that was the most blatant act of corruption I have seen in over 55 years as a city fan.
