I’m assuming we thought he wouldn’t make it. Not sure why Spurs do if that’s the case. Possibly Pep saw his arse because Porro said Pep hadn’t been in contact whilst he was on loan.

Also when we sold him we had Walker as first choice RB. I think we either had Danilo or Cancelo as back up as well and we simply didn’t see him displacing those two, and getting half decent money with the potential for more with sell on clause (30%) was too good a deal to turn down

There are always gonna be a few players who with hindsight we maybe should have kept on or preserved with. But you can’t keep them all and out of all the 30 or more players we’ve sold from the academy in the last 5/6 years how many fall into the bracket of a mistake? There aren’t many. Three, four at a push?

That’s the risk you take with letting players go I guess. But up to now, overall, I think we are ahead

I think we’ll only know which ones were mistakes in the next 5 years mate. Not ever player will set the world on fire straight away, but I think this guy looked on par with Cancelo at least. A player that will likely leave this summer. We’re struggling at FB and have been playing players out of position there so makes it a bit weird how we didn’t even give him a crack. Unless this kid that’s onloan in France will come back this summer?

6.5 year contract. They are going to have a lot of trouble shifting these players in the future whoare sat on linger than normal contracts . I see Waffa have already changed their FFP rules as a result as well

just goes to show UEFA do not know what they are doing and FFP is not enforceable. Changing the rules midstream , really ! what next , only gate receipts count towards purchases ? These are businesses ruled firstly by the British Government , not some poxy pseudo charity in Nyon.

Did not use spanish for a few years, but the new fella, Malo Gusto, means: Bad Taste

Proper, although he would have been a better fit in the swamp.

Manchester City will challenge Barcelona for the signing of Girona and Spain Under-21 defender Arnau Martinez, 19. (Mundo Deportivo - in Spanish)

We won’t be challenging anyone for him, rather they won’t be challenging us. We own Girona

Not enough minutes from his point of view. We’re left with Ake as number one left back and Gomez as back up which is not reassuring.

I know I've harped on about Cancelo but him going is really positive. I've rarely seen a more overrated player. Hapless defender, literally hit and miss passing and odd positional awareness. City do need to get into the market now, absolutely must.

Loan? Why would we let him leave on loan? Makes zero sense to us. This nice nice approach we have with players where we let them dictate what’s happening is really embarrassing. Happens nowhere else apart from City.

Would be interesting though if this is why Porro has fallen through with Spurs and we’re using our buy back option?

It will be interesting to see if we do let him go whether we have his replacement lined up. The young kid from Girona is a right footed cb / occasional rb from what ive read? We should not be letting anyone go at this late stage without a suitable replacement

Option to buy for €70m in the summer. If true that’s a decent amount. Doubt very much Bayern will pay that though.

If he does want to leave rather than fight then he can fuck off. Obvious he wouldn’t pass to Foden the other week, everyone saw it. Something has gone on.
