Anyone from the outside can see that we have a critical problem, and the full backs are crucial elements in Pep's system. In his second year he changed all of our full backs because he needed player that can work with his tiki taka.
Lewis and Esbrand surely can't be worse that what we have.

Also, imho, Bernie-Kevin-Gundo cannot work all of three at the same time.

Cancelo is a disgracefully poor player, ruins our already dodgy defence. No idea what Stones and Dias have done, by far our best looking defence in about 5 years. Cancelo did that last thing week, just one thing in amongst a shit show of other shit show events eg Dippers, CL semi in Madrid, etc, yet is straight back in. Pep has his favourites and it is one of his failings.

Very rarely does anything worthy of note. Obviously reads too much Roy of the rovers with his shooting and Hollywood passes that come off a couple of times per season. I was wondering part way through the game how shit he has to be before getting subbed.

He's been terrible other than the very occasional Hollywood pass. I posted the other week that the CityXtra lads, whom I really like, had a show discussing whether or not Cancelo was the best full-back in the world. You could not make it up. JWE deserves a go because the Gomez lad is nowhere near good enough. We have to buy, plain as day.

We all roll our eyes at Sterling but it looks like we don’t have any players capable of beating a man on the outside any longer. The lack of confidence to take players on is staggering.

I don’t understand the tactic of inverted winger in front of inverted left back against a packed defence but he obviously doesn’t trust anyone else at lb. It’s gonna cost us.
