Does Southgate hate Foden?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Might any of these have SOMETHING to do with Foden being dropped?

1) Did Foden have a good or poor performance against Croatia? He seemed mostly invisible, and against Scotland he started well but the team was poor overall.

2) Is Foden an experienced, highly relied upon senior player that the players in the team (especially those behind him in the squad) would be as unlikely to openly question Southgate compared to respected leaders in the team like Kane or even Raz?

3) The competition for places in attack: Raz performing well in the tournament and Kane being clearly undroppable whilst Foden is not exactly a senior player in the team with multiple years experience can easily mean his place was MOST up for grabs in attack.

4) On competition again: The reality that someone of Sancho's level didn't play 1 single minute before the last game whilst Foden started 2 and others were crying for he OR Grealish to start as well. How can that work with Kane and Sterling in the team and remain responsible defensively? Someone won't start.

5) On competition again: Grealish's form and the team's play improving after he came on against Scotland and then his performance next game against Czech Republic next game compared to Foden.

6) On how competition and tactical decisions based on opponent are at play: Even after Grealish had 2 strong performances in a row HE WAS DROPPED against Germany. Sancho also didn't play.

7) On competition again: Who else has more game time than Sancho? This lad called Saka, considered ANOTHER top attacking talent (I wonder if some of our fans even realise how good he is) started against Germany after a good performance against the Czech Republic. Dropped after a poor showing against Germany.

I believe our success is built on pure happenstance, for instance if Mueller scores, which he should have done we are looking at a totally different outcome, Slouthgate has got lucky, it will not last forever.

I don’t think he’s got lucky, it is a planned logic that if you don’t concede then there’s a better chance of winning, especially if you forward players are much better than the opposition. Let’s face it, the Rags did it for years.

Foden must feel silly for that haircut

No doubt he (and every one else ) thought he was going to be our biggest player

AGREED

I will take your rags and raise you a "one nil to the arsenal " or any team Maureen has managed.

Southgate is managing England through a knock out tournament rather than a league, we are in the semi final of this competition yet he gets called a useless cunt on here

I know we all want to see exciting, fluent football but that’s just not going to happen. It may mean periods of stale football but what matters is the win. Let’s see if we can do it again tonight.

Come on England!

With the system Southgate plays, there is room for a maximum of four attacking players, sometimes three.

Kane and Sterling are guaranteed spots so that leaves one or two. And to be fair he started the first two games. And didn't live up to the hype/expectations

Others have come in and staked their claims. That's International football

Also I do wonder if Chelsea winning the CL has given Mount the edge over Foden.

4-0 win over Ukraine, 2-0 win over the crowts, yet you bitch and moan like a miserable old cunt as usual, when was the last time you had a positive thought about anything?? It's a tournament knock out not the Premier league.

You're just like the miserable Scouse fan down the pub this aftie, I asked him what his prediction was and he said any win for the Danes would do him, just because he doesn't like Harry Kane.

Miserable, angry cunt you really are.

Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham and Manchester United's Mason Greenwood have not been included, despite being in good form at club level.

"I've spoken to both of them," said Southgate.

"Jude at the moment is playing a high level of matches with Champions League games, league games.“

But he’s included Foden who is still short of fitness.

If Stones goes and plays I’ll be pissed off. Pep insinuated that it’s annoyed him as well, when the other week he mentioned about Stones being injured but then playing 90 mins for England.

You can guarantee he'll play, especially with Slabhead missing.

We want to be putting our foot down with this. The red shite have got a fucking deal going with their players, greenwood cried off last time etc. No way should either Stones or Foden go. I'd also throw in Greslish if he has been picked, if we are going to play the amount of games they've been involved in so far card

Stones hasn't kicked a ball all season, yet he is being picked by Southgate
Hope for him he doesn't puck up an injury again on international duty, pep won't be pleased.
