Sad news, seems he has made his peace with it.

Sad news indeed. Loved the style under Keegan spent the promotion winning season up in carlisle and used to get a coach down to the home games - good times thanks Kev god bless you

Really feel for him. I often think how much I’d love if football had more Keegan’s in charge and less modern techniques. It will never be that way again, but we can wonder.

Thought it was 5-1 but could be wrong, I do think Burnley were either top or second in the division. Some big scoring games under Kevin, seem to recall getting 7 at one of the Sheffield teams. Always liked Kevin

I think when his time is called finally, it will be one of those occasions the whole football world will remember him with huge fondness and respect.

You might be right.

I had to leave my then girlfriends house early to get to that match. Daft cow insisted I take a load of her stuff up and store it at my house on the way. Last minute request.

She dumped me a week before the kast ever derby at Maine Road - the row started with, "its sold out. You're not getting tickets, come down south". Within 48 hours of being dumped, a Blue called Neil Hadfield sold me 2 North Stand tickets. What a day that was.

Back to Burnley, my mate could t make it so my flatmate - a huge Burnley fan came instead. I was late and arrived when it was 1 - 1. By sheer coincidence, his seats were right in front of w of his drinking mates- I had a photo of hom, the final scoreboard and his mates sat behind him, they were visibly I'm agony laughing their heads off.

Kev gave us these times. The 3-1 at Maine Road ended a toxic relationship. Months later, I got together with my now wife.

Keegan, I did not always agree with his tactics, but the football was a joy to watch.

What a legend. 4 - 1, 5 - 1, whatever it was, it was a moment we will take to our graves with us.

Great player for clubs and country, sporting superstar and a superb manager. His Newcastle teams of the late 90s and noughties were great footballing sides. Thought he did well as a manager for us as well. I would fucking love it if he beats this, but sadly the way he is talking i think his time with us will be cut short.

Absolutely, two legends of the game it's so sad that Father time finds its victims. Sounds like Kevs is a bit more imminent it's going to be a sad day when he passes.

Hope he doesn't suffer too much.
