Middlesbrough v Hull

Will be interesting. Wonder if 1 or 2 Hull players were dragged back from Mallorca unexpectedly :D

Hullo Hull better the Boro I think old timers like me consider Boro a bad bogey team. I saw us lose to them 1-0 & they didn’t have a shot on target.
It was an OG :P

You can't be as old time as me then. I saw us smash them 4-0 in the League Cup semi in 1970 to go through 4-1 on aggregate

I listened to that on Radio 2, I think it was then. But the memory fades as you get older - it was 76 :D

We beat the Rags in 70

And I do remember the Sun Jihai own goal. Decent player, but accident prone!

I do remember that, pretty sure we beat West Brom in final, also I’m sure the league cup final was earlier then maybe February could be wrong to lazy to check

Wasn't that Bolton that beat us with an OG and no shots on target?

Sun Jihai - Manchester City 0-1 Middlesbrough, November 2003

Not the funniest or strangest of own goals you will ever see, but what made this a mad moment was the circumstances that surrounded it. The Chinese international had more time than he realised in his own box, so the watching fans were baffled when he swung a boot and buried it inside David Seaman's left-hand post. However, it meant that Middlesbrough won the game -- without having a shot on target. Or even off target.

I'll tell you what is piss poor. These semi worthless play off games are closing the football season when for years and years it was the F A Cup Final

Tomorrow ,again after the FA Cup Final. Walob.

I think I remember the Bolton game as well, we hit the woodwork 4 times in the game I think, Antoine Sibierski mostly. But wasn't it a penalty in the dying minutes?

Actually that rings a bell.... Seems I'd merged 2 traumatic memories into one.

Sibierski hitting the bar twice with the same effort! Hit the bar, went up in the air and then hit the top of the bar again.
