Whatever has been going on he needs to improve and get back to the season where he carried us to the title.

He still produces even in his bad moments .He looked better last night when he came on and wasn't far off scoring one of his specials.
He has got 7 goals in the PL this season, same last which isn't bad even when he's not playing well. Double figures if you add assists.
Season before he had his mega year and was voted best player in the country by his peers.
I certainly don't want him gone and producing somewhere else

You keep throwing out stats like they tell the full story. They don’t.The reality is he’s been poor for a long time now — offering very little since around December. It’s not far off what we’ve seen from Savinho, who’s contributed th square root of fuckall all season.
In must-win games, he shouldn’t be getting minutes unless we’re already comfortably ahead.
As for selling him — I wouldn’t. But I wouldn’t be handing out a pay rise either. And to be honest, he doesn’t look like someone enjoying life right now - that’s what can happen when you get married at a young age and have kids - no time to enjoy a single life with fuckall responsibilities apart from focusing on your job.

Phil seems to have lost his mojo, whether that has something to do with him winning everything early in his career or he he is suffering either a physical injury or mental health problems he isn't performing. Maybe he gets a loan deal abroad who knows but either way I wish him well and hope he gets it back and performs for years to come.

However I am not optimistic.

Well unusually for you you're not really disagreeing with me then. You wouldn't sell him, nor would I. And regarding the stats, they show he's scored 14 league goals since the start of last season which is VERY far off what we've seen from Savinho. It's more than most midfielders in the leagfue.

I still believe there is a quality player in there. It’s obvious something is not right with him, you don’t go from player of the season to where he is now without a reason. Selling him should be out of the question.

Can we stop mentioning Savio, it's knocking me sick!

He needs a good kick up the arse. His immediate family and hangers on are not helping him. Everything is too familiar and comfortable. He looks bored. If he went to bayern under kompany he'd get his mojo back in 3 months and return to being a world beater. Would love it if he came back with a bang for us next season but needs to get his head right. His feet are ok.

Seems like both his spark and confidence is gone together. Heard maybe gastro or family issues but who knows. Just visited my in laws with 2 young kids and remembered how exhausting life is at that stage. But then again he also has the money to pay a team of people to look after his 3.

Sometimes I also wonder if there is space for both Foden & Cherki in the team. I would love to think so but both of them like to get the ball in similar places and be one of the main players on the field.

Thing about Phil he never really gets a break from the game.
I hope he doesn't go to the WC but I think Tuchel will take him.
He could do with a summer away from the game.

With all the rumours that seem to get pushed about regarding off field issues and other stuff, maybe this is City's way of showing him that they back him and will support him and that he's valued by the club.

Who knows, as it's all just conjecture and hearsay but seems odd to be extending him at this moment based on his form.

Hopefully he comes through this difficult spell and we get to see him hit his full potential through his prime years

Looks like the club backing him which points at them having a handle on the issue(s). Think someone posted a while back that he had gastro issues. Heard similar over this weekend from a different source. Hope we get him back and firing after a summer off

That's a worry for me too, but when/if Doden gets back to his Player of the Year form, that's a luxury problem to have. Until then, he can play on the right. Can't be worse than Savinhio and Marmoush. Or Semenyo in his recent form.

Subjective: he is one of our own, glad this happened. He should spend his career here.

Objective: Why did he deserve a contract and Kevin didn't? Is the club responsible for his private life? he's been shite for two years on the pitch and off the is happening fuck knows what. What message are we sending out?
I understand the support the club is giving him, but when is the line crossed?

i keep hearing this “he’s one of our own.”…but is he? his frequent lack of effort suggests otherwise. personally i dont think he gives a fuck about this club or football in general anymore. but sure, let’s give him a contract extension and better yet a raise (the current rumour).

He should take another trip to Iceland to re boot his life again.
