Taking the Knee

I understand that teams are taking the knee again. Can someone help me understand what this achieves. I am not being controversial I really cannot see the point indeed I suspect it could cause problems in the crowd, it was reported on five live that there was booing at some grounds, Burnley & Sunderland were mentioned, the booing was met with abuse by another section of the crowd. Therefore it could cause discord, the very opposite to what I suspect it was intended.

One of the most ridiculous things ever seen on a football pitch.
The sort of thing Neville would be wanking over doing and Keane telling anyone who asked him to do it to fuck off
Hate it

Dominic Calvert-lewin refused to kneel yesterday- I read a spin that claimed he was booed for not kneeling. Most other outlets saying the kneeling gesture was booed.

It's all bollox anyway. It took about two seconds at the Etihad, and TBH, I never heard anyone booing either the kneeling or Calvert-Lewin not kneeling.
I don't give a toss if they do or don't, but I do agree it's all a bit pointless.

I think that was the Burnley v Leeds game the booing was for taking the knee, I know Burnley people & believe me they are not happy with our diverse multicultural society & that’s putting mildly

I genuinely didn't realise they'd done it, not sure where I was looking at the time

I might have actually been looking at Kovacic on the bench thinking he looks like a hunk with his longer hair

Taking the knee is symbolic of the state of our weak, gutless country. Continuing to do so when most other countries gave it up or never started in the first plsce just shows have far this country has fallen.

Yesterday at the game there were boos from the stands, it's getting ridiculous now this bollox of talking a fucking knee, especially when it started with a drug crazed wife beating criminal that wouldn't co operate when arrested. And yanks to boot!!!

Noticed on motd commentry that it was now not just for racial abuse but now for any and all. There was definitely booing at the Etihad. Time to bin this off before there's trouble

Instead of taking the knee they should all hold pictures of Kolarov and Otamendi up
