just been taking a look at the upcoming qualifiers this week - fuck me, what a load of shite! there are about 3 fixtures over the 5 days that you might say “that could be a decent game”, the rest are an absolute waste of time.

I dislike a lot this playing every day shit.

Liked the International Break when you had Saturday and Wednesday, everybody playing then.

Same with the Premier League now.

I saw Alvarez set up Messi. Simple square pass. Got me thinking Doku and Savinio would never see that opportunity.

Stones withdraws with an injury. Who'd have seen that coming?

Pep is full of shit - says if any player wants out he will not stand in their way and yet when Pep really wants you, he makes it crystal clear, and City make it impossible unless the money is stupid. When a player pushes and Pep isn’t 100% sold on their “indispensable” status? He lets them go.

A reminder !!! Bernardo Silva – wanted out how many times was it ? , Barça and PSG sniffing, Pep straight-up said “not happening” unless the club got an absurd offer. City dug in, he stayed.
Kyle Walker – Bayern wanted him, Pep convinced him to extend instead.
Laporte vs. Stones/Dias – Pep backed Stones/Dias as untouchables, Laporte was allowed to walk.
Fucking laughable when baldy says if you want to go you go -
Alvarez leaving was a mistake.

Laporte leaving was a bigger one.

Bernardo was allowed to leave but Barca couldn't afford the asking price.

Alvarez is a quality player but if he was world class he wouldn't have ended up at Athleti Madrid. We got good money for him

Utter garbage - Alvarez’s move was about securing a leading role, not a lack of world-class ability. The guy’s won the World Cup (scored in the 2022 semifinal), two Copa Américas, the Champions League, two Premier Leagues, and was the FIFA Club World Cup top scorer in 2023. He finished 7th in the 2023 Ballon d’Or and starts for Argentina over Lautaro Martinez. That’s world-class by any measure.

He's a quality player but he's not world class. Some very average Argentina players have the same medals.

The 2023 club world cup was 2 matches.

Martinez is shite so not much of a barometer and pretty sure he's older than you too Carl.

I don’t normally agree with your takes on Pep, but this one is spot on.

City have one league title since he left, and Athleti haven't won a trophy since he's been there.

Alvarez was class. It’s clear as day his level is way above the two I mentioned. As much as I rate Haaland without service from the best he will be a frustrated 9. If he gets injured again we are done.
