Akanji is kryptonite for any defence. Awful player.

He just can’t play that role, as much as Pep wants him too.

Akanji is a limited footballer and struggles for us just in basic defending. But he definitely can’t play Stones’ role. It’s unfair for Pep to expect him to that.

Rico is the only other player we have who can play a hybrid defence/midfield role.

Don’t usually admit to this, but we don’t deserve to be in front, and, it could be worse, Stones not playing causes disruption to the defence yet again, I wonder if he just being kept in cotton wool.

Big second half.

Chelsea game plan is quick counters.Seemingly we have no strategy to defend against it.We could easily be 3-0 down.

Not seeing the point in Doku, creates fuck all and slows us right down whilst he turns one way,or another to run in to trouble or mis- place a simple pass.

No fucking way we will get 4. Be lucky to get 1 the way we are playing. If we don't sort out our defence i can see Chelsea having a field day. Been playing off our shoulders all game and we are so far up the pitch they have space to beat us with their pace. Akanji slow, Ake not the quickest and our pace is in Walker who cannot tackle. Dog shit all round there. Get Akanji off, drop back a yard or so and get Lewis to help out in midfield. Oscar Bobb for Alvarez who tonight has been poor ( hate to say it)

He's confusing you with NB in the original post, you predicted Sterling with the sucker punch.

I'm just hoping the fact Rodri playing has the desired result.

Stick Alvarez out on the right where hopefully he can't do any damage and stick Phil in the middle.

Time to play like champions and put Chelsea to bed. I’m not looking for a draw, I’m expecting a serious reaction and walk away with 3 points.

Changes: Stones for Akanji, Silva for Doku, and get Kev and Phil more central.

Agreed 100% Akanji a journeyman who needs to be on his travels , offers nothing, drops us in it time after time

Thought the ref get them everything in the first half and only gave us something when he had no choice.

Oh, and won’t be watching Sky this half, it really is anti-City.
