Back to the CL

Should progress through the tie to be honest. And as long as we do that's fine. Don't think we will batter them tonight. Think its more likely to win by the odd goal.

2-1 Haaland and Bernardo

yep, I'll take any win, but if we do batter teams in the stages and qualify with a massive goal difference does that not give us a psychological edge in the knockouts? - teams thinking - fucking city will score loads...?

If we batter them tonight it will mean we can play the likes of Kova, Nunes, etc in the second leg and rest a few players.

It is the knockout stages fella. An away leg in CL knockout is rarely an easy tie so any old win would be perfectly acceptable

I do get your point re scoring goals. I also think the same with clean sheets which is why it always pisses me off when we concede late or to an oppositions only shot on target. Gives teams hope

They will be difficult enough at their place. I expect a tight win, or even a draw.
Only batter tonight will be on the fish, or Mars bar if your that way inclined.

This is our best side, surely?
Oh wait, no super Akanji?

Seriously, going forward, he should stick with this starting 11 from now and on. Maybe Grealish position is questionable

CL last season Grealish was integral to us beating Madrid and Bayern imo.

Pep as usual very keen to squash any complacency. Says he has found in the past it’s difficult to pick up the rhythm of the Champions League in the first match of the round of 16 after such a long gap in matches. City to win 0-2. He’ll play a strong experienced team to try to give us an easy as task as possible at home.

Feels weird because I’m super confident tonight and I’m always negative and think we’ll lose, even when we play a league one team in the cup.

I need Pep to put out Nunes, Kova, Gomez. Akanji for my negativity to come back!

Well, well, well. He picks our strongest XI.

Just this once though. Naughty Pep.

Alvarez can’t complain after his performance against Everton. Grealish retains the ball better and tracks back better than Doku which is important in a CL away match. Doku available to come in the second half if needed. It’s a very strong team and it should be. City to win 0-2.
