That'll put the cat among the pigeons! Particularly if we are obliged to challenge the PL in the higher courts given the ECJ ruling on UEFA & FIFA rules being anti competitive.

The British Government is due to present a Bill which runs completely counter to this ruling and post Brexit no appeal possible to the European Court of Justice. Goodness knows where this all ends up.
That will have to be amended in the light of the ECJ ruling, the UK cannot create legislation directly conflicting with existing EU case law.

I’m not at all sure about that. The Super League is toxic in this Country and the U.K. Government will not want to bend the knee to a European Court. Difficult not to celebrate one in the eye for UEFA but we’ll see how this pans out.

Its toxicity to the fans is of no consequence to the PL clubs controlled by US Hedgies. They just want maximum cash extraction from the PL & UEFA/FIFA comps which includes eliminating rivals like us.

The toxicity is a fact which will weigh with the political parties though.

US owned SKY predictably cranking up their coverage of the ECJ judgement - "UEFA will not try to stop A22". North London "Sports Entrepreneur" Jon Smith - aka Maradona's former agent - is currently being given a generous platform to attack UEFA & FIFA claiming they are using Arab money to prevent natural development - i.e. US Hedgies taking home the bacon.

Roan merely posted the statement of the DCMS. Basically saying the Bill will stop any English Clubs participating in a breakaway league. In effect they can’t stop a Club joining but they would simply exclude that Club from domestic football.

Club statement -

https://www.mancity.com/news/mens/manchester-city-statement-esl-63838777

Manchester City Football Club confirmed in 2021 that it had formally enacted the procedures to withdraw from the group developing plans for a European Super League.
Our position has not changed. We remain committed to that values of European football, and we will continue to work with fellow clubs through the ECA and participate in UEFA competitions.

The spotlight being shined on illegal competition blocking has to help another case against FFP, which as any half sane person knows makes zero sense and certainly does, in no way, relate to "fairness", or saving clubs from themselves.

I'd say our top dogs are enjoying this

Put your cock back in your Y fronts and pull you're trousers up. ESL will not go ahead, us, the rags so far have said NO, fairly sure if i could be arsed to check that majority of others have also distanced themselves.

Move on to your next BS quest, transfer window opens in about 9 days

Not convinced by that - Barca and Real are balls deep in ESL. Napoli look like they may be tempted - talk is cheap and money talks. I’d never say never

Agree, there seems to be a widespread view the Super League is going to happen with or without teams from the EPL. It’s argued Real Madrid & Barcelona have certainly lined up many clubs to join them. The likes of AC Milan, Juventus, Inter Milan, Napoli, Benfica, Porto, Sporting, Galatasaray, Besiktas, Fenerbache, Marseilles - even Rangers & Celtic - are ones the CL couldn’t operate without as a group.
