Is there a vote for post of the year? This is it, it just fucking nails it. It's funny too, gallows-style.

Palace deployed the familiar deep defensive block. Very little room at all through the middle. It was very difficult for Alvarez Rico and Foden as a result. Rodri had more room coming from deeper but we needed to work play down the flanks. Gvardiol and Grealish combined decently down the left but Walker and Bernardo far less well down the right. This was chiefly because Walker simply hasn’t got the technique to put in quality ball from wide positions. Gvardiol I suspect can but he largely left it to Grealish.

Agreed, but today that was a massive issue as shirt 24 (fed up with saying his name today) shat his pants eveytime he received the ball from Jack in that area time and time again.

Pep needs to stop with this round hole square peg shit, the whole world knows it!!

If Stones not available play 24 along side Ruben and have Nathan at LB.

Sadly the batteries in Walker's legs appear to be losing their charge like an old mobile phone and if so, until we get a proper RB play Rico there.

Well we did have Nijinsky playing for us one time , also got a Buchan serious injury. Let's hope our modern day alternative is back soon.

City have a big program starting this week Club world cup , nice to have but still part of the programme, followed by FA Cup and then back to PL and CL.
We just need to be in there come end of January for the most important , the PL. anything else is a Bonus.

Teams go through changes, this new variant needs a little time and patience, it will come good again.

Serious question: Anyone expected this year to have another go?

To reach the same level like last season?

I’d like to see Stones Doku and Kevin playing together regularly. They would have made a huge difference today,

I know where you are coming from. However, I asked a similar question after we lost 2-1 at home to Brentford before the World Cup break.

Worst 2 players on the field today were Walker and Alvarez- that Palace left back is good, had Bernardo more or less in his pocket. We just didn't want to go forward from an hour into the game.

Alvarez seems to avoid quite a lot of criticism that other players do not , strange really.

Yes although Erling has played in a lot of our recent disappointing matches.

True - but if Kev was back etc. Sadly he isn't and neither of our new recruits could make the starting XI this afternoon. Difficult to understand why Stones didn't play - being saved for a meaningless game in Jeddah.

It’s a very very different situation, if you ask me. At the moment they don’t have another motivation. I think they need a proper shit season to go again.
My only fear is that we don’t have leaders, only fannies.

Seasons like this one happened to Madrid or others, so it’s normal. Funny still in 2 weeks time we can have our second trophy of the season.

Palace played very narrow but we certainly don't help by having our only width coming from two full backs who won't or can't put in a decent ball. Grealish and Silva are on the wrong foot for crossing and have to stop, turn and go back inside. Very frustrating to watch. Gvardiol is a decent player but is never a left back, put him at centre back and Ake at left back. Preferably we should be buying a left back but we've only needed one for the last whole of Guardiola's tenure so he obviously can't see it. Oscar Bobb is a natural wide right player and would be on a high after scoring midweek, he should have been wide right, Silva in the middle and Lewis at right back. Walker the worst of a bad bunch today.
