Bit unfair to criticise Stones. He hadn’t played since the Charity Shield. He’ll be a valuable addition to the team after the international break as of course will Rodri. Pacqueta would have offered more creativity to the side and might yet I suppose if the gambling issue is resolved. He’s a step up in quality from Kovacic and Nunes. Bottom line there’s a long way to go. The gooners can celebrate a fortunate win but plenty of time to come back from this.

A narrow loss, away to title contenders, while we have key players injured and we are adapting to some tmsquad turbulence.

Forced time without Rodri has cost us, but it forces us to find a way of coping without him.

And I still think we are still recovering from last season - our form dipped before we won any titles.

Nunes is way off it and looking like another Phillips.

Maybe we should have someone else look at signings instead of Pep. Nunes definitely not looking like “one of the best midfielders in the world” - a panic buy of Benjani proportions.

We'll have to put with two weeks of Arsenal jizzing. What a horrible feeling, I'm sure we'll bounce back, but having to endure that trip for a fortnight!!

I don't smoke, never have , never will.

The game was played at a very high standard, with very little between the teams. a good game of football, whereby a slight mistake , or a touch of brilliance , or as in this case a crass deflection lead to three points.

I seem to remember that many, probably including myself, said similar about Rodri during his first season?
A midfielder in a pep system is not easy.
For me the jury is out on Nunes, but I am willing to give him time.
As for another Phillips, already Nunes is well clear of that standard.

Yeah, me too. I nicknamed the crane for the way he slowly turns with the ball.
But it really took him a while.

In that interview Gvardiol had with Kovacic on the site, when they went and ate, Josko said you need at least 6 months to understand Pep's demands. You don't hear people saying that.

Rodri was 23 when he joined us and was also joining a completely new league with Fernandinho, arguably the best in his position, in front of him at the time.

Nunes joins us having already spent a year in the Prem.

I don’t think we can compare the two like for like for those reasons.

Anyone see the rat from the Arsenal bench with Walker? Must have said something as Walker was walking off the pitch and Kyle squared up to him. Haaland bounced over ready to cave heads in.

Love to see it and hopefully shit like that will light a fire. Show the players the clip before the game when Arsenal come to the Etihad.

But Jack was with Villa and needed the time. Nunes, I don't know if he will be good or not, but is he not in a similar position? in needing time to learn Peps way.

Jack, Otters and of course Kolorav get free passes. Pointless bringing them into the mix.

Wish that Blonde log showed more aggression on the pitch.

I hope haven't offended anyone calling him blonde.

From what Grealish said the other day he was asked to completely change his playing style when he joined City. Nunes is a “Pep type player” and was called one of the best in the world by Pep. He’s not changing his playing style at all. For me he should hit the ground running.

I’m probably being a bit harsh on Nunes, it’s only been a few games. But I do think he was an unnecessary buy, and this “they’ll be better next season” bollocks needs to stop.

You aren’t alone. I’m not sure he’s even much an improvement on Cole Palmer. Time will tell of course and he needs to find his feet but he seems off the pace physically to me
