Ah no sad news. As a player he was before my time, remember well though when he became chairman.
May he rest in peace.

Exactly the same for me. First knew of him playing for Bolton, followed him to City and thats the reason ibecame a City fan. My first and only footballing hero and he came from my home town . Treated his employees well and also played cricket in the Bolton league against my old club ( Bradshaw) . Sad, sad day for me. Rest in peace Francis, my thoughts are with your family and friends and other blues tonight

Great player for us though as a key part of the 68 Champions team.

Surprised, he was a big cricket fan and i know several that worked for him in his toilet roll factory and they all said he was a good boss. Speak as you find i guess.

Sad. As a kid watched him with Bell, summerbee etc on videos I got from the library. Still got my dad's programmes with tokens cut out of the extra one he'd get.

Hope they are at peace somewhere.

RIP Franny Lee

His black and White House in Styal is being developed now. I guess it was sold a year or so ago.

Only just seen this. I'm another for who Lee, Bell and Buzzer were my first football heroes. He certainly could show Rodri how to have a proper brawl.

RIP Franny, scored a pen in my first live game v Coventry 70/71 and my first City hero.

Normally a reader rather than a poster these days but some things are worth putting my head above the trenches.

Many who saw him play probably do not spend much time online.
