Let’s talk about Pep

Of course not a “out” thread, just a question: what the fuck is he doing?

As Sunday follows Saturday, his brainfarts are present in many, many moments.
Why?

I don’t think he is right in the head.
100%

Refusing to play to our biggest strength - Haaland, is just criminal and it’s one way to get the guy to leave us.

Looks like Pep needs a break from football to be honest.

Totally baffling today, Lewis at left back just to get Walker back in the team. Either Walker or Lewis at right back and then have Laporte or Dias at centre half. No midfield player capable of a through ball for Haaland to run onto, which is nuts. Rodri looked well off his game, I'm a big fan normally, but he keeps him on for the full 90.

I saw Lewis in the middle more. He is trying to make him something similar to Lahm or Kimmich.

IF he has fallen out with 4 or 5 of our top players then he has to go.

But that is not it, mate. The problem are around his tactics and mistakes. Everyone here called he absurd lineup on the back today and this happens almost monthly.
Pep is without a doubt our biggest asset and our weakest point.

Is like we are coached by Jekyll & Hyde. The problem is we have no idea who will turn up before an important game.

Lots of issues.
Primary issue is It does look like there is trouble in the camp. Cancelo moving, the Foden situation, etc... It looks like team selections are based on excluding certain, out of favor, players because of background the issues?
Then other issues could be magnified if there are problems in the camp. Issues like: Midfield's energy and age, Gundo, DeBruyne are 32 and 31.
Lack of pace we don't have a Sane or a Sterling. The intensity to win the ball back and then urgency to attack relentlessly are missing.

The football played always reflects the unity of the squad, coaching staff and the manager. We have major issues here imo.

Unlikely that Pep can turn that around imo. We win nothing this season and will not be surprised if Pep leaves this Summer.

Pre season was chatting to a good mate who is a dipper fan and I said then I wouldn't be surprised if both of them weren't in place for the start of season 23/24. Primarily due to burnout as both are proper obsessives who will have been in those high pressure jobs for 7+ years. The cracks were already showing in the dippers despite their season last time. We are now showing cracks as well

And let's be honest, Pep has caused/is causing a lot of these problems. Odd team selections to say the least. Not playing to the best striker in the world's strengths. Is the drop in form for Cancelo and Foden and Silva to name just 3 down to Pep? He is the manager after all. He oversees training and is responsible for the tactics and improving players. Dias is rarely fit. Stones another.

Is there the beginnings of a split in the dressing room? I'd like to think not. But we aren't as cohesive and together as in previous seasons that's for sure. Cancelo was shipped out very quickly. Foden is clearly not right.

Pep has done enough to deserve to dictate when he leaves. I would ask if he still has the desire. And only he knows

I'm thinking, Dias, Laporte, Foden, Walker, Cancelo, Silva and KDB.

It's all a bit stale and drab with us at the minute and it starts with Pep.

Yes, but the bizarre team selections, tactics and lack of plan B is caused by players or his relationship with players?

They were here from day one, flaws that are beyond logic from a manager of his level, that ultimately cost us a Champions League final.

I've said it many times, 18/19 and 20/21 when we played our best, we had almost unchanged first eleven. We are one of the best teams in football, if not the best, why do we need odd tactics when we are almost unstoppable when we play what we know?

Sign anyone, even Mbappe and we are going to be here with the same issues.

Baffling, some suggesting Pep wants out and is deliberately provoking discontent - but why now with everything still to play for?

Stupid comments about Pep and stupid thread. Pep has , through winning so many titles in the PL completely changed the game.

What on earth do you mean Bulletproof ? I was as shocked as most at the team selection today, but i repeat NONE of us on here know why it was made. Perhaps it will all come out in the wash. It does seem strange against a known problem duo like Kane and Son that we put a youngster , a new player (Akanje ) , and Walker as "CB". However, did Kane really look dangerous apart from his gift from us , Where was Son ?

It was all City but we couldn't get the goal.

Don't agree, it's a timely discussion, today wasn't a blip. I do think the bottom line isn't a loss of form by individuals but that his method been worked out and countered in the PL. Pep changed the English game for sure and is struggling to find a solution now they've caught up.
