God forbid that a city player could finish above a Liverpool player. I thought it was literally only the second of those things that counted: Most players (male + female) nominated for an award at the Ballon d'Or = Club of the Year. So you could win literally every trophy out there, pick up every domestic player and manager award, but if you only have a couple of nominations at Ballon d'Or, you won't be club of the year. Also, you could (theoretically) win Club of the Year without having a single male nominee for the Ballon, if your women's team was strong enough.
