Anyone actually seen him play? I’ve only seen the odd game and he’s not looked brilliant..happy to reserve judgment though.

Already had the “he’s not worth £40m texts”. I’ve just reminded them it’s £5m more than what Liverpool paid for Andy Carroll.

Played well for England in Euro 2020 (21) but then was out injured early in season until coming back early March so not really seen him since then.

Rather underwhelmed to be honest.

But as always, let’s see what the lad can do. He isn’t a mug and we do need cover for Rodri so maybe it will be a decent signing

Good player, under Pep will be brilliant

....second season!

Look at it another way, how Rodri went through all those batterings amazed me. We need Phillips

I love his attitude already. Wanting to actually come to us and work with Pep.

I read about his childhood. It was enough to keep anyone grounded!! His dad is in prison and his mum basically sacrificed to feed her kids. Worth reading if you’ve got a minute.

Good signing, but I agree he needs to change his hairstyle. Same applies to Cucuracha if he’s signed. With City players the most that we can tolerate is Jack’s hair band!!

I think he’ll fit in nicely and keeps the England Quota up too. Just my opinion. Not sure he’ll hit the ground running however and will take time and be eased in.
Tracking back is overrated.

Just looked at some stats for Phillips and they make quite decent reading.
With a little time under Pep, those stats should improve and he should prove to be a useful player to have.

Another big problem we have had is the threat of player fatigue towards the sharp end of the season.
Last season saw us having to pick weakened sides in some games as we prioritised and targetted the CL and Prem.
We don't need squad players, we need players who can step up and do the job we need doing.
Ake is a great example.
I KNOW THAT YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU UNDERSTOOD WHAT YOU THINK I WROTE, BUT I AM NOT SURE YOU REALISE THAT WHAT YOU READ IS NOT WHAT I MEANT

Passing might be a problem eh ? Surely he is no worse than Laporte , or Rodri for that matter? Both of whom have had howlers at times leading to goals and in Laportes case a red card and loss to Palace.
