View from the Away End

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

View from the Away End

Postby CuteMancs » Sat Dec 11, 2021 9:46 am

Sorry this is so late, I’ve been a bit busy this week. These comments are a breath of fresh air after last weeks idiots. I am not keen on the early kick off, but I do like the idea of playing before our rivals.

COME ON CITY!!!

Referee: Jonathan Moss
Assistants: Marc Perry, Timothy Wood
Fourth official: Martin Atkinson
VAR: Andre Marriner
Assistant VAR: Matthew Wilkes

Team Selection

Sa
Killman Coady Saiss
Semado Neves Moutinho RAN
Podence Traore
Jimenez

And the rest…

Here we go again. After last week’s cruel defeat, Bruno takes the lads north to face another of the league’s elite. Can we go one step better than last week and bring something back in terms of points? Let’s hope so!

Can't see anything but a thumping defeat, unfortunately. Of course, I hope I'm wrong, but let's see!

Wolves have got some decent results against Manchester City in recent times, and they know the damage Traore can do. So while I expect it to be a backs to the wall job, I think we might sneak a point. It will though be extremely difficult.

Whilst I thought we could get something last week I just can’t see anything but a defeat today, but you never know.

Probably be like a home game given City’s trouble selling tickets!

Tough game hoping for a positive performance would take a good attacking performance even if we get no points! Would rather us have a proper go than the same tactics as last weekend!

Now this is one game I would start Traore. They are a little scared of him and he has history at this ground.

I’m not banging the drum for Traore, but giving anyone as their last chance an away match at City seems a bit harsh. On the flip side, you’d hope for him to be making a defining, positive contribution against Brighton and Watford. Granted, more effort off the ball should be achievable against anyone.

City fans, like most of the PL watching world, think we're anti-football, park the bus, etc., merchants. Can't blame 'em. Hope we play an attacking line-up and have a go! That means finding places for Podence (assuming fit), Adama, Trincao and Hwang and not playing Dendonker! Who cares if we lose 10-0. Erm, scrub that. Park the bus please Bruno, but then again, I probably don't have to say please.

All I want for Christmas is a goal.

3-0 City. Nuno had Pep's number, we have a great record against them since returning to the top flight. They are probably due a big win against us.

I'll be honest and say I'm not looking forward to this game at all. It will be all Man City and no doubt little or no attacking from us. Will we get a shot on target?

Cheers CM

Don’t mind Wolves as it goes. We certainly owe them a good thumping.

Think it will be relatively tight but we should win. Going 2-0

I remember when Lescott viciously attacked Ali B and got sent off at Maine Road.

They have now scored once in the last six games. Only Norwich have scored less in the PL this season

Don't have to imagine, I spent years doing it.

Ha ha, so did I mate. But then we had shit players and shit managers so we were shit. They have got some world class players and that is what they serve up week-in, week-out. It is far worse than us under Frank Clark.

I don’t remember us being time wasting pricks either. That’s the worst thing for me.

I say this against all of these teams that come for a point. Fucking negative shit that winds me up. Like most on here, I was all over watching us when we were largely shit but we had a go - maybe when we should not and got some dickings but this time wasting falling on the floor shit just winds me up. Id like a ref to stop it as soon as it starts likethey would as soon as Ed tries it.

I think it was against Brighton that they started timewasting from minute 1 and no booking.
Ederson took too long for a kick and was booked straight away.

That's true enough, but I'm not sure that it's worse than Psycho's last stand.
