Thoughts? I'm desperate to see Foden play. Why isn't he getting any game time?

Picked him for the opener v the world cup runners up. He must have gone off him quite quick.

It can't be age, Bellingham has played the same or more. I think he has more creativity than mount and I know they don't play like for like but I think if we ditched the two holding we could have foden grealish and mount or sterling combo. But Southgate is too vanilla. Still can't complain. We're winning 4 nil. If Southgate gets us the trophy, I'll forget it all. But I still want to see Foden play!! Frustrated!

Has to play 3 of our players and who wants that if you’re being pressured by the sponsors and media to get the Red Top players in there. Foden is just the fall guy for it and, to be fair, was being played out of position in the first 2 games so was an easy target to drop to the bench.

Unfortunately for Phil, Sterling seems to be a Southgate favourite so he's been initially played out of position. Sterling has had an impact with three goals and an assist so its going to take a spectacular fail for him to bring Foden on at Sterling's expense. I was surprised at Rashford coming in on the left but maybe Foden having the yellow card swayed Southgates thinking.

He brought Rashford on. So there is your answer.

They have to get certain players in to satisfy the sponsors.

Not worried about Phil not playing, England are at the start of building this team to play decent football, when it happens Foden will be at the centre of it.

Did ya think? I thought he did well. Sterling got the goal but i thought foden was better in first game. I thought he was the only one to have a go at scotland too in second game and he hasnt been seen since 60min of that game. Very odd.

Sancho got his first real game time tonight, Grealish no minutes tonight after a stellar cameo v the Germans and Southgate keeps coming up with excuses for not playing Foden ? All a bit strange but then I start to think straight and we were shit v the Scots Southgate got lucky v the Germans and we beat a bang average Ukraine tonight. Home advantage every game throughout the tournament bar the game tonight fuck me Big fat Sam could get away with winning this with the quality of this England squad !

i'm no southgate fan (prefer him to you though) but he's managing this squad well. he's got them all playing their part and there are probably 16/18 names in contention for the 11 spaces available on wednesday and then hopefully sunday. that is immense from an england perspective.

Nah, just lots of players he wants to give a bit of the experience to, we have a strong squad with a great unity rather than club factions that hindered us in the past . . . imo

As much as I'd like to see Foden start, think the hype got to his head a little (stupid hair dye), maybe trying too hard. To be fair Grealish didn't come on too, don't think it's an agenda.
