View from Cheltenham way

With everything going on at the moment I have no problem with no crowds at games, but I think it’s a real shame that this one will be played out in an empty stadium (for both sets of fans). How much fun would this have been? Not many comments from the home fans, and they are fairly predictable.
COME ON CITY!!!
Referee: Stuart Attwell
Assistant Referees: Constantine Hatzidakis and Ian Hussin
Fourth Official: Andrew Madley
And the rest…
City are scheduled to play tomorrow (although its against Villa so who knows if that one will take place). But if it does, could well be that City are not as fresh as we are given an extra days rest…Dah, who am I kidding. Their reserves or U23s will give us a hiding, as will a half-fit first team.
The good news is I've just seen Guardiola has said they won't be signing a striker this month, so they may struggle to score.
This over hyped match is destroying our league exploits. The game on Saturday will be lost in the first quarter but it doesn't matter its Man City. Feck the game on Saturday teatime.
At least a drubbing will bury the mockery of the goal last night!...I have faith that we can keep the tally down, our defence is pretty solid. If we can still be in the game after 70 minutes, you just never know...I hope that we play with freedom and confidence rather than park the bus. Crawley demonstrated what the benefits of that approach could be.
Ultimately, the Manchester City players are human, they will be playing in an unfamiliar environment, on a small pitch and using basic facilities. It is XI v XI and Cheltenham are a professional club, with some players having played at a higher level or have youngsters who are looking to play at a higher level. We are seeing more surprises and I think that is largely down to the professionalism/fitness/quality of the lower leagues having improved…I am sure many would have said similar about the prospect of Crawley beating Leeds 3-0…Not saying it will happen, but it is not out of the question.
it would be nice to score against Man City in open play
I’m thinking 1-5.
Typical Pep so far....71% possession and only six shots on target whilst Villa have four shots on target.
No VAR will be a blessing. If in doubt put the flag up please lino!
I would love us to take the lead, and I would be delighted with any goal, but our results against Premier League clubs are poor (apart from Fulham away have we even scored a goal?).... and we’ve never played a team anywhere near as good as City. Unless their whole first team squad comes down with covid before the weekend, I’m predicting 4-0.
We scored against Everton to make it 1-3 and spurned good moments to make it 2-3, which would have been exciting.
Maybe Leeds thought Crawley would be a stroll in the park? Ok, City are a class act but will Pep put out a star studded XI? Football, like other sports, is never completely predictable, it wouldn’t be worth watching if it were. I’m not putting money on us but maybe this is the game where our luck changes and everything we hit gets a wicked deflection into the net. Whatever, it’s a great occasion, let’s enjoy it.
