Football without fans

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Football without fans

Postby Bear60 » Sat Dec 05, 2020 10:21 pm

"Football without fans is nothing". A famous quote attributed to legendary Celtic manager Jock Stein. It's a slightly abridged version of the full quote, which reads: "Without fans who pay at the turnstile, football is nothing." Either way, Jock Stein's the one who said it.

So 2000 fans can be admitted to a football match if the area is in the correct tier level.

Why is this figure a one size fits all? Surely Spurs’ stadium which holds 60000 can accommodate more fans than Millwall which holds 20000.

Is there any logic to how this figure has come about rather than say a percentage of the actual stadium capacity? Or is it just a policy plucked out of thin air which no thought process gone into it?

It’s just yet another example of how fucking shit Boris and his “government “ are and have been throughout this pandemic. Millions upon millions of shoppers descended into the big cities and towns Christmas shopping this weekend but a paltry 2000 fans can attend a football match ????? Zero fucking logic except all the shoppers contribute to keeping the economy afloat , well London mostly because Boris the bell end and his cranks has made it all about London hasn’t he . And the fact you can shop until you drop but can’t go for a pint because the fucking pubs are closed wtf is all that bullshit about ????

So we wouldn’t be in the shambles of a situation we are in now if it was stricter from the start ? That one ?

The question is how can it be a fair league when some clubs in tier 2 can have fans at home games and others in tier 3 can’t have any. Surely that’s an unfair advantage.

Dippers were singing last night. Must be allowed as no mention of them not having fans in next time because of it

Drakeford seems to be a right weird cunt to be fair but then most of Wales is rather strange . Personally I couldn’t give two fucks about Wales and the politics there I am just fucking fuming how Boris and his cranks have repressed and fucked over Manchester while looking after London at all costs .
