***City v Fulham Official Match Thread***

Postby nottsblue » Sat Dec 05, 2020 9:24 am

Another Saturday 3pm KO. Shame no fans can be there.

We have an excellent record v Fulham of late and should win. Lawro has even gone for 4-0, the only time I can ever recall he has tipped a side to score four
Manchester City have won their past nine games against Fulham in all competitions by an aggregate score of 27-3.
Fulham are on a 15-match winless run against City in league and cup (D3, L12).
The Whites have gone seven hours and 51 minutes without a goal against City in all competitions.
The sides met in the FA Cup fourth round at Etihad Stadium in January, with City winning 4-0.
Manchester City

Manchester City's tally of 15 points after nine fixtures is their lowest since 2008-09, when they had 13.
They are looking to win successive league games for the first time since a six-match sequence between July and September.
The five goals they scored against Burnley last weekend was as many as in their previous six league fixtures.
City are unbeaten in their last 39 Premier League home games against promoted opposition (W35, D4).
Riyad Mahrez, with four league goals, is the only player to score more than twice in the top flight for City this term.
If selected, Phil Foden will be making his 50 Premier League appearance. Only two other City players have reached that landmark before their 21st birthday,

Let’s turn on the screws and hit the ground running and use the Burnley result as a confidence booster to get our PL campaign back on track

3-1
Sterling to score first

Another few goals today and a good win needed. Ollie will not sleep for a week and we'll have the scumbags shitting themselves for next weekend. Foden a must starter and no injuries, 4-0 City win.

Pep has said Mahrez is starting. Sterling with start because he’s been whinging he hasn’t started a couple of games apparently. So not sure Foden will make it. Hopefully though.

I thought his comments last week and this week were aimed at Sterling (amongst others), interesting to see what he does.

Yeah I thought the same. I think he used Laporte as well as an example of not starting the last few from what I read

Its about time both of them were dropped - should have happened every time they played shite...which count for numerous times.

Who Knows , maybe one or 2 players that never get picked had a word with Baldie to bitch about shit performing players being picked week in and week out.

I know I would.

We should win this and ideally another 5-0 to boost our GF and GD whilst shutting the fuck up of the pundits bleeting on and on about it.

I doubt it will be quite that, but I do reckon we will keep a clean sheet.

Let's see if Pep is going to have another brainfart selection or not.

I'm going 2-0 and KDB with the first goal.

Well done NB re-introducing the score and scorer predictions.

Your City line-up to face Fulham!

XI | Ederson, Cancelo, Dias, Stones, Mendy, Rodrigo, Gundogan, Mahrez, De Bruyne (C), Sterling, Jesus.

SUBS | Steffen, Laporte, Bernardo, Torres, Fernandinho, Foden, Garcia.

Beggars belief, that said should be enough against this lot

You would think we could beat Fulham with that team, regardless of the selection

Only just noticed Ake not got a mention, I hope he is not injured and/or out of favour with Pep, he is a good player and don’t want him to get disenchanted like others have

The issue is if we win a game with Rodri-Gundogan in midfield, Pep feels justified he’s making the right decisions and completely ignores that almost every game we lose includes those 2 playing.

That aside, should still be strong enough to win today. Just disappointing that we are not seeing more of Foden. Games against lower table opposition are ideal for him gaining more experience.

It's appalling that one of our best players and a city diehard who was supposed to be standing in when Merlin went has been lied to...
