I'd have to say Bernarbia. His first season was one of the most enjoyable I have seen. Right up to Psychos penalty miss.

He was remarkable but just a shame back then he was in the twilight of his career when he joined us ------he would have walked into this current city team IMO.

What a great great player he was for us.

I can never work out why he had such an undistinguished career

This may gain some more traction if it were in the Maine forum?

A couple years ago KK was doing a sportsman's dinner I was at. Not sure whether he signed him, but his favourite player in the squad at that time was Kevin Horlock. Special mentions to Bernabia and Berkovic.

Unbelievably, it was Frank Clarke who signed Kevin. He's now assistant manager of NI Under 21s (Kev not Frank).

Horlock still supports City. Seen him outside Wembley a number of times when we’ve been playing down there.

Anelka was Keegan’s best signing imo. Or Van Buyton even though he was only on loan. Foe another great shout.

I was really shocked we got Foe at that moment, couldn't understand how we did it.

We were linked with Edgar Davids as well. I was surprised Schmeichel came. I was actually shocked we got Anelka, Foe, and Schmeichel.

Wait, didn’t he get Distin as well? Another surprising one after he had a great season on loan at Newcastle.

Bernstein was a class chairman.

Yeah, but Davids was near the end, Foe was a key part at Lyon.

I really do. Had to find out who we’d signed by looking in the paper or reading it on TeleText. Miles better times.

He was probably sick of carrying the team half the time.
