I said before the season started that we'd be in a fight for top 4 and I've seen nothing to change my opinion. The squad is in the worst state it's been since Les took over. Our scouting system needs a major overhaul because our signings are getting progressively worse. We've gone from having two adequate players for each position to what we have now. An unsettled, shambolic back 4. A holding midfielder who is a major downgrade on prime Fern and despite all the attacking talent, one truly reliable striker who is 32, slowing down and missing almost as many as he plays. It's going to take a lot more than one transfer window with our recent record in the transfer market.
