As ridiculous as the rule is, changing a rule after the start of the season is even more of a farce. They should just continue with it for the whole season, then admit it was an error, and go back to the old rules next season. Like they should have done with VAR.

Crazy how they didn’t review it after the ball, potentially, grazed Laporte’s sleeve against Spurs and Hayzoos had his goal ruled out. Very weird indeed.

Relaxed means relaxed when it is inside the box of the criminals or the rags?

Stupid - They should maintain changes for the season Scouse and the rags have already profited from bad rules.

So what are they changing for Handball. Back to the original ? where someone physically tries to stop the ball with the hand or forearm ?

or Handball when they think , but can't prove that the ball brushed the arm or back ( near the armpit ) of an unsuspecting City player ?

Time to shake up the Administrators of the PL and the FA. These guys , including the "Advisory" MBE ref, have been ruining the game for the last decade.

VAR administration is a disaster.

If they want to punish unintentional handball by defenders in the box then award an indirect free kick instead of a penalty.

Its not back to the original of last season but its more relaxed than the ironclad ruling they were instructed to use this season. The ref has some freedom to interpret unless the arm is raised above your shoulder at which point its an automatic pen

Great to see ONE REF tonight ... No dcik head in a VAR studio going on replays and not the 3D that the ref sees. Love the way he kept waving play on , at the Burnley diving.

Get rid of the fourth official and VAR.

Totally agree. It was also good to listen to a channel that had just one commentator who held no bias tendencies, reporting the game as it is.

Really enjoyed it.

Refs by nature are in the main knobs- crap players - Nerds who want to be part of the team, never gonna happen, put one in a studio with a monitor it his time to shine. You missed it I saw it mentality. The rag pen v Brighton was the end of Var for me. It can never work when the refs have no feel for the game just the listen to me for one time in their life’s.i am in charge.

Well James does his best to pull a player down in the scouse box, not to look like a foul ( in time added on at the end of the game) , falls over and handles the ball ! No VAR and wierdly Mr Friend misses it all !

I hear that Klopp wants a full review of the officials and VAR, needing an explanation for why they didn’t win.

Wonder if PiGMOL tell him to get fucked, like they do with us?

This will be very interesting. Whilst they'll want to bend over backwards to help their dipper chums they'll not want to be setting any dangerous precedents which could come back and bite them on the arse. I'm sure a few wrong decisions in the murderers favour will be witnessed in the next few games to even things up for the hypocritical bastards.

This was a bad decision. In anybody's normal book Mane was level and onside. However , the FA made their own problems with poor VAR , Poor Var refs, very bad refs (Oliver should have his license revoked - not because of this game, but because of his total incompetence).

However , this failed coup in the week for Scouse2 and the Rags must have rubbed a few people up the wrong way.
A Scouse2 game situation like this wouldn't normally go to VAR.

The tackle on VVD was clumsy and even though he was offside . A yellow card was deserved. What Ricarlson did was nasty and rightly punished.

Shame VAR or the BBC didn't pick up on the Commentators remark about the blocking of Bernie "like Protecting the quarterback with a block". These incidents ( like the Elbow from Robertson in last seasons game , to the Back of Bernie's head ) , go unpunished and need to be weeded out. Especially that arrogant FW Robertson - who was at it again yesterday.

Sky in meltdown over the VAR decisions from the Dipper derby. It’s as if there haven’t been previous poor VAR decisions or indeed poor refereeing decisions over the last 130 years. These things happen and I know VAR is supposed to eradicate these poor decisions but when you have faceless humans making the decisions behind closed doors with no transparency, then errors will occur.

I don’t recall the outrage at Llorentes handball in the CL
Or our last minute winner from Sterling chalked off because a back pass from a Spuds player may or may not have brushed our guys leg depending on which frame is used. Remember when Andy Gray on Bein Sports had the graph that showed which frames were used could alter a decision? We deal with such fine margins

That said, personally I thought the dipper goal should have stood, but shit happens. Typical dipper mentality of ashamed by nothing offended by everything. They are not alone in receiving poor decisions, indeed they have been the beneficiary on numerous occasions, so suck it up and move on

Agree 100%

Especially the comment re their failed coup d'etat. That will have pissed off a lot of people and you should never underestimate that.

Haha the ever growing sense of entitlement, they’ve thrown the toys right out of the pram demanding a review of VAR decisions.
