As things are moving on, might not be the case.
But yeah, I would swap Jesus with Messi at any time and hour.

We are on the point (long point) on getting one of the best players that ever were in this game. And most of all, a player that has something to point.

I would not like to see Bernardo going under any circumstances.

Yeah, Bernie is no go for me too.
He is developing fast as a true Manc, plus his title season was perfect. He will come back to that next season, I am sure.

City_Chief is just a news aggregator account. They just Tweet what news sites and journos are saying and always include the source for their Tweets.

Aquero has removed the number 10 from his Instagram account, don't know if it means anything.

Barcelona have accepted Lionel Messi’s decision to quit the club this summer but will not allow the Argentine to leave for less than £200million.

The 33-year-old stunned the club’s board on Tuesday by handing in a transfer request and an emergency meeting was called to discuss Messi’s future immediately.

The Catalans are understandably desperate to keep the five-time Ballon d’Or winner but with such a short turnaround before the new season Barcelona can ill-afford to allow the situation to overshadow their preparations.

If we do pay £200 million I will wonder why we’ve pulled out of negotiations, Hazard comes to mind, because we refused to pay a £20 million agent fee.

There’s no way we’re going to pay that much and Barcelona are currently in a very, very, weak position. I can see it ending up being something like 50 mill right now.

Agree.

I think if we can include garcia and angelino(thats 50m worth of assets) and a few quid it should be more than enough to keep them happy.

The marketing impact of this transfer will balance our finances in one year time, if we are smart enough and I think we are.

As I said, I don't expect this to go on forever. Messi will not go and train to Barcelona and he will not stay and wait for this to get solved soon. I reckon until our first game we will know if he is here or not, or even earlier.

blues2win wrote:If Messi leaves it wont be for nothing but it wont be anywhere near for 700 million either. Neither Messi nor Barca want this dragged out in the Courts. Of course a player exchange as part of a deal is possible. Garcia and Angelino definite possibilities. I wonder about Mahrez since he basically plays in Messi’s position.

Yeah, so difficult to assess the outcome.

Agree, neither want to go to court, but Barca don't want to lose him for nothing.

However, had this happened pre-Covid, which it very well could have, he'd be gone for free & they'd be helpless.

How far will Messi be willing to take this is the BIG question. He’s clearly angry enough to go this far and had enough. Impossible to see him come back to Barca now.

You might suggest we could plausibly placate Barca and the view that we didn't destroy them entirely as a club, which will surely wind up as part of the story for some, by including Garcia and another player. I'd suggest Mahrez, but I don't think they'd want him and hence why I suspect Jesus' name is what we hear.

Not sure what we do if we don't move 1 player to fit him in the team. That's another extremely difficult question to answer.

The fucking tart(if true). Im not a fan iof this hero worship. So far in this thread - or the other, we have Messi telling us Pep has to stay and now Serge giving up his shirt?

Yes he is arguably the best footballer we have seen, but fuck off, we are not Barcelona

I know it's all speculation and shit, but I dont want him rocking up with a list of demands. Come if you want to but dont do us any fucking favours Leo
