A not inconsiderable possibility that Bartomeu is forced out or chooses to resign. Messi then stays.

Wants to exercise a contract clause that expired on 10th June that he could leave for free immediately. Regardless that the season was extended, he would need our legal team to get that one through

What kinda moves do we have to make this comply with FFP?

Silva, Sane, Bravo off the wage bill. Otamendi and Stones hopefully as well. I make that about 500k a week freed up. Torres and Ake won't bite too much into that and we have Garcia (maybe) and Foden to step up. We need a top-class CB before Messi so that will take up a chunk of what we have kicking about.

I wonder if selling Jesus to fund the wages for two/three years might be the easy-way around this. He's not the long-term replacement for Aguero. I'd love to know how to put a figure on just how much Messi in our side adds £££'s to the sponsorship/PR side of things.

Won't he be getting a basic salary of £50K a week with the Sheikh topping it up through the back door?

I thought FFP was being relaxed this summer because of COVID? Or now Messi is potentially on the move to City and Sancho isn’t going to the rags have they fucked that idea off?

Sure we'll have a really creative way of accounting for a £700m asset being added to the books free of charge

So let me get this right . We sign Messi and no one can go and watch him play ! Typical for City.
