Went to Paris instead of Welcome to Messi Manchester

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

All the articles about Messi do not touch on what a draw he is for their commercial market. The only reason Barca can afford to pay Messi these sums is because of the revenue brought in by the commercial deals and sponsorship because they have Messi and will utilise him as marketing the products.

Don't be fooled, Messi coming to us would pay for itself in commercial deals. Also the dirt being dragged up is all about the Barcelona presidency.

If he comes, welcome to Manchester Lionel. If he doesn't, on we go.

I don't think they're far behind, they just haven't admitted it yet.

I would sign him just because he can increase our marketing status.
Football wise, no idea how much he can deliver at the moment. He looks really bored this year.

Hard to call.

He will be 34 when next season starts.
That makes him by default injury prone and losing pace, season on season.
PL is fast and tough. He will be targeted, our players get very little protection, so how often will he be fit?
So spend the money elsewhere...

BUT

Pep will have a plan to get the best out of him. He is a game changer and can still do things most players dream about.
The PL/Sly could go all out to protect him because he will bring in the subscriptions.
He could turn us into kings of Europe.
The deal could be self financing because Messi on his own will generate revenues and new plastic fan bases and that is before we win anything.

For me it is six of one, half a dozen of the other.

Ronaldo is 35 years old now, and he is showing no signs of slowing down. 15 goals in 16 games for Juve in the league this season.

I don’t think declining when hitting a certain age is a thing for him and Messi.

Hmmm all you like - if it wasn’t for the fuckfest behind the scenes at Barca then that scenario would have happened .

What sort of dosh is he going to be on if he comes to us ?
If he's going to be on 2, ,3 ,4 times what the rest of the squad are on then no chance, he can bugger off.

We don't need him and as much as hes a marketing money maker for any team I always think what would happen to players like Foden etc if he came to us ?

After much thought...Ive decided he can fuckign stay where he is.
