They have a €820 million debt of which €400 million has to be paid on or before August 2021 . Extreme cost cutting is in place including players wages , thing is the players are refusing any wage cuts of which a deadline passed last Thursday. It is a very grim situation indeed.

I highly doubt Messi will join us in January on a transfer. He’s due a €30m loyalty bonus at the end of the season if he stays with Barca whether he leaves or not. Besides why would we pay a transfer fee for him in January, when we can sign him for free in January to join us in the summer?
