These past few weeks I have read countless articles saying City have to bridge a 18 point gap to catch Liverpool, now I don’t know whether it is me that is fucking thick, but I cannot get my head round this view of things.

Does this mean the dippers start 18 points in front of us?
Does this mean the dippers are guaranteed 99 points again?

I just don’t fucking get it at all, I would welcome other posters to point out the error of my views on this, but I always thought a new season meant all teams start afresh.

It's just a way of stroking the dippers' ego a bit longer.

I am going to put this here as not many go into the fantasy and predictions sub forum.

I've just created a predictions league as I gave up on fantasy leagues years back as I forget to do my substitutes

Anyway here are the details, it would be nice to have more players this year?

Join Mcf.net, my Premier League Predictor league on @Superbru! You can find my pool here:

or by downloading the Superbru app and searching for the pool with code:

I am not sure, but if it’s Peps last and we start slow yes, IMO it will be car crash.

As things stand today. I have a bad feeling about this up and coming season.

The short break (especially after the disastrous ending) does not work in our favour. Serious work needs to our defense and whilst Ake is a good signing, it's not enough. Even if the new players arrive tomorrow it will take time for them to bed in with the side and the league. Players who we know who are up to the standards and are surplus to requirements are not out the door yet. Can't be good for the dressing room morale.

Going into the season with a manager not committing to being there next season is going to be problematic. If we don't hit the ground running and are already 5/6 points behind Liverpool come November. What's the motivation for the team? It will be like Pellers final season where even key players like Kompany and KDB didn't look arsed.

I hope in two weeks' time, a lot of the above is resolved but I'm bracing myself for a tough season.

I have said it mate, we are at a funny place, the backbone of the team over a decade is at its end, Pep in no rush to extend, are we entering a season of regroup. Pep is the worlds best IMO, however if he is not staying is that not hindering us.

The Lyon match was treated like a friendly - does that count ?

It's all very laboured, its impossible to get excited about the new season. It's just so flat.
It's going to be a very weird season with a lot of weird results.

This all boils down to no fans at matches - its fuckign impossible to have anywhere near the same inner excitement a fan normally has so close to kick off.

An example of this (and I bet most fans feel the same way ) is the fact that Im not really bothered we kick off a week later than everyone else.......not bothered.

Its amazing how the feeling changes with no fans - just goes to show , the game is NOTHING without the fans......nothing.

It's not only the fan issue. Were you excited before the start of last season?
I wasn't at all. All due to the corruption around the league.

It affected me but not enough to put me off the game itself - this lock down and measures being taken however,......nah...it killed any pre season emotion for me.

I’m not really arsed. Been toying with getting IPTV but if I did it would be to watch the NBA rather than the start of our season. Haven’t signed anyone to make me go ‘Wow’. Linked with players that are nearly 30. Kolarov available and won’t bring him home. Just a shambles

Joke aside, the fact we didn't play any friendly and we will start directly at Wolves is bonkers.

Play a fucking friendly versus someone, get the team morale, try something, try new systems, new tactics. From the outside it seem that we are going ahead with the same idea, same things over and over that work in most moments, but who come and bite our arse in key moments of the season.

I hope the club knows something we don't know, as it looks it is going to be a horror show.
