So, monday we will find our opponent. Who do you think it will be?

I think Atletico, Real or Dortmund.

You've a 60% chance of being right!

Only Napoli or Lyon possible. I think.

Hopefully Lyon.

After last year with Lyon I wouldn't want them again. They beat us knowing our game, when we were really good.
We can't surprise them.

I would take Atletico rather than Real, to be fair.

IF we are going to try and win it then we should be happy with any of them.
I would take Real we might just play better as underdogs.

I'm not arsed because we'll get knocked out at some point anyway

These days, it really doesn't matter if you win or come second in the group. I think seeding league winners from the top 6-8 leagues had a massive effect in that respect - all you need is the Ukrainian and Portuguese champions to be drawn with relatively week Pot 2 clubs and/or one surprise team, and the chances of having an easier path through as a result of winning your group are reduced significantly.

it’s almost like a proper cup competition!

I'd much prefer it if it was - 200-ish teams, no seeding, two-leg knockout, with at least one team entering from each UEFA member, and first round byes for the top 20-30 clubs in terms of UEFA coefficient. Those that get knocked out in each round up to round of 32 enter lower-tier competitions. All rounds are two legs except the final.

At the moment, there are maybe 24 teams in Europe capable of making the last 16, with us having played around 20 of them in the past 5 or 6 seasons. There's no interest or romance in it like you have in a cup competition.

We should beat them as long as Pep doesn't over complicate it. Dippers got the tough one

Absolutely. Pick the strongest team for both ties and we have a great chance.
Assuming Laporte back and playing well that is.

Laporte will certainly be back. The key question is who his CB partner will be. At the moment Fernadinho seems the choice but whatever Pep says you cant rule out a dive in the transfer market for say Koulibaly. Cancelo is defensively sounder than Walker imo. That leaves Left Back our big weakness. Can Mendy show us why we paid all that money. Angelino certainly wont play so if not Mendy it would be Zinchenko. Just not sure about him defensively. We certainly are good enough to get through this draw. Promised a ticket for the home tie already. Cant wait.
