Wouldn't get too excited about this, it may well be us next.

It's also not as bad as it looks on paper. Madrid got hit with something similar, appealed and bought in the next transfer window before the ban kicked in and won 3 CL's.

Maybe so. But Chelsea’s squad is not great and that’s even more pressure on them to keep Hazard now they can’t get a replacement. With Chelsea looking they might not get top 4 either, even if they get the ban put back a window on appeal, players are hardly gonna be queuing up to sign. Add to the uncertainty over the manager, these are potentially troubling times for them. Which is great news for us

If they sack Sarri who will come in with a transfer ban?
Apart from big sam, that is.

Just to be clear, they are banned from registering players, as was the case with Barca but they signed Turan even whilst under a ban.

The appeal will probably allow them to sign players this summer.

I am a bit worried about this happening to us as well.

The stockpiling of youth players is something that doesn't sit comfortably with me. 99% of the kids that are signed by us or other big clubs are not signed with the intention of them ever getting into the first side and are viewed as future revenue be it from loan fees or transfer fees.

I do also have to remember that these kids are not on the minimum wage and have the worlds best facilities on hand to work in so it is a tough one.

We’re being targeted by Der Spiegel over the Jadon Sancho acquisition when he was 14.

We’ll be done by this eventually I am pretty certain - hopefully not before the summer as we need to tweak the squad a touch - bit I don’t think it would be an out and out disaster given some of the talent we have in the reserves already

Agree with all that.

I still don't get it, why is a total ban equivalent to what has happened?

Why should a team be banned for 2 separate arms of the club?

This ruling aside we need to do more to force top teams to bring young English players through the ranks, what on earth does trawling Ghana do for the quality of the premier league? There has to be an angle the premier league teams are pushing and it's more than likely about money.
