England's greatest brand of football ever?

Seen some discussion floating about on twatter with Guillem Balague suggesting that England hasn't seen a greater brand of football ever.

I can't pretend I have seen all of the great teams over the years, but from what I have seen in 35 odd years of following the sport I have never ever seen football played like this.

We probably need to win some trophies before we argue this on a bigger forum but I'd love to hear others views ...

If we do this consistently for the whole season then it’s up for discussion IMO.

Win the premiership like this.
Make the final of the CL. See what happens, playing like this.
Then go out and defend the PL.

Like it or not, we’ll be judged on what we win.
If half the British media have to eat their words in the process..... we’ll that’s what I’ve been waiting for.

What a time to be a blue.

According to this we currently have 12 players ranked in the top 10 in their positions in the top 5 leagues.
Not sure I agree with it all (Fabian Delph the second best fullback?) but interesting reading.
Rags have two - de Gea (obviously) and Phil Jones. No Pogba! Liverpool have one (Salah).

I think we are very close to Barcelona 2009, but still have to work until we become the 2011 version, which, imho, is the best club football team that ever was, better that Milan 89.

I think we are still missing something or better said, someone.

People arguing that the invincibles and the 99 rags team played better. Not sure I remember them playing our style to be honest.

But as a few point out trophies will be the indicator of success over time. And if/when that happens I can't see many accepting that we are the best ever.

All about trophies, unless we get a bag full this season no one will really remember it been the greatest. For eg the rags treble team wasnt that convincing but did enough when it mattered and has somehow come into this conversation when in reality the football they played doesnt deserve it.

Well if we don't win anything playing football the way we are it would be a travesty imho.

Thebrag 99 team won the treble, you can't argue against that, it's pretty fucking impressive. However, they were mighty lucky in both cups, but they won them. They did not play anything like our team now, but they were dominant and we will.need to go a long way to eclipse that

The topic is the best brand of football.

The answer is yes, absolutely.

The rest of the arguments are about trophies. Different thread maybe there lads?

The premier league has never seen this quality of football being played. If that's not obvious by this stage, it never will be
