You've just reminded me of brain damage on TNT commentary last night Actually it was quite nauseating listening to his pitiful attempts to be complimentary about us - which often seemed to finish with some pathetic remark like "I watched them play Mansfield in front of a 3000 crowd" or a ridiculous rag reference "that pass reminds of David Beckham...Paul Scholes...etc". Savage was obsessed with mentioning the rags at every opportunity. The Macclesfield comment was utterly pathetic - making out we were a Div 2 club and look where we’ve got to. The truth is we had two relegations but we were always a top division club. We weren’t a second division club that suddenly got a few promotions and now we’re the best team in the world.

He mentioned Macclesfield specifically because he owns part of them.
