Maffeo did most to impress but TBH I'm not sure what he proved against a very sloppy City side.
Our passing was below par and we couldn't get anything going in their half for most of the game.
I thought Sane got frustrated and a little petulant. We had a few that were guilty of being too slow to get a shot away when the opportunity arose, including Sterling, Foden, Silva and Jesus when he came on.
Jesus in particular has not been sharp in front of goal yet.
A bit of fitness I suppose for Gundo and Bernardo but it looked very much like our third team not our second, even with Yaya there slowing things down to 2015 levels.
Pep will be nudging Soriano to get the Cherie book out again.
I wouldn't press the panic button yet though. Give it another month to blow the cobwebs off a few of them and we'll be flying.
