Never filled the De Jong's spot after he left. Who's our "crunch a cunt" hard man now?

I don't think it was a bad challenge at all.
Sure, it was a bit high and could have taken Alonso's head off (but it didn't), the studs were showing and could have gouged his chest (but Alonso is a big softie anyway), De Jong missed the ball completely because it was a bit late but, all in all, it was just a wholehearted tackle from an enthusiastic player with nothing sinister intended.
At the end of the day, Alonso got up on his feet afterwards (after a bit of obligatory play acting) and the media outcry was nothing more than a contrived media witch hunt.
Nothing more to say after a purely innocent collision; move on.........
(PS I'm glad it wasn't a City player on the receiving end..... )

de Jong would be sent off every match now of Fern is getting reds for grazing people.
