Watching the game on Saturday i did think how the hell would it work if we signed Sanchez ( or Mbappe) when we already have this team and still Sane,Bernardo,Sterling, Yaya, Gundogan , Foden ready to bring in as attacking options.
Just makes me think Pep could be making it harder for himself as it would be so hard to keep everyone happy. He might slightly improve our best team.... or would he?
Different options mate, but more importantly a proven goal scorer who works extremely hard and gives us the cutting edge out wide with the 433/4141 we utilised last season, but also an insane partner to have in a 352 with Kun and not exactly a drop off if we rest him to play with Jesus.
We are in 4 competitions that I believe we are seeking to win. I wrote that we will not prioritise the FA Cup, but with this signing or Mbappe we will be seeking to win them all.
I see our concern but we are in the business of being a top top club.
Real Madrid loaned out James Rodriguez and has Isco coming off the bench.
Yaya is mostly going to play the pivot, and Ilkay as well so they don't really factor in. Bernardo and Gundogan are also here to give us the chance to actually be able to rest either KDB or Silva and not feel like we are dropping quality 2 or 3 steps down (I could see Pep also using Foden here a bit).
Sane, Jesus and Sterling are the ones who have to worry a bit, but I believe they will still find chances with all of the competitions we plan to go far in. One of them, if they don't do it enough may face a similar fate to James or Nacho. It's just the way it is even if we of course want them all to succeed.
As for Foden, it is a bit frustrating, but understandable that he will have to keep working, but he will get some chances. At this level you just have to make the most of them. It's a cold world in some regards, but I think he can do it, and I don't think Pep will allow Foden to feel completely forgotten unless he absolutely has to.
We want to win the PL, and how nice would it be to obliterate the rest of the league and really have a chance to go to the CL final? Adding Alexis puts us in that position. I find that hard to turn down.
