Demi Retires

Great for us for 2 years, shite for 1. Big part in winning the league but should have kept the majestic ponytail. Overall great guy though and glad he was a part of our team for a bit!

Personally I thought it went great, variable and crap in the 3 years. But worth it just for the first. Have to spend more time with his missus now I guess

I thought he was great once he got over his initial sticky patch. He was 33/34 on the back of an injury thrown into the hustle and bustle of the premier league No easy feat.

A peak demi would be worth 60m plus and comparable to any centre half out there now. He also would have been perfect for our current system.

Wasnt it revealed he was on eelative pittance at city too? One of our best pound for pound signing in years.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good call Dub.

I also thought he was the personification of 'cool'. Really liked the guy and I wonder if he'll stay in football in some capacity ??

Remember him being class on the old PES. Decent guy. Top top defender back in the day. Did a job for us.

Should have learned from Samson.

For whatever reason, City seem to be one of the hardest teams for a CB to be successful, and Martin was much better than quite a few others who were much more hyped. Very calm and assured. But when he was bad (no ponytail), he was pretty terrible and ridiculously slow. But overall I agree dubciteh, probably best player per pound we've had for awhile.

Couldn't help but like Daft Martin, but he was fucking slow.

He was a very astute signing at the time for 3mill or something like that.
Always thought he was an intelligent defender.

Very smart defender once he got up to speed with the team. His decline was sharp and unfortunate, but the middle part he was superb.

His marshalling of the defence that game at hull was a masterpiece class many(Stones) MANY(Stones) defenders(Stones) could learn from.

Slow off the blocks in central defence against nippy strikers. However I loved his midfield cameos, he should have played there more often.

I'll never forget him getting inside Schneiderlin's head when we were playing Southampton by laughing at him when he missed a shot and trash talking while the ball was out of play.

Good football brain. His legs had gone a bit by the time we got him but his brain carried him through for a while. Overall I am glad he came to us.
Your right leg I like; I've got nothing against your right leg. The trouble is neither have you.
