I'm surprised there's been no mention of the one lazy bastard himself, nicky summerbee.

So a thought or two about Bravo.

First the decision to dump Joe and get a new keeper in. It shocked plenty and has been the main thing for the media to throw at Pep whenever City failing is discussed. I seem to remember Joe getting ripped into on here and other forums as not being good enough. Useless on shots down to his left, useless with his distribution, doesn't command his area well enough bla bla bla.

So for me wanting to change the keeper for the better and included in that a keeper who is great with the ball at his feet was sound thinking. Yes Joe can be a brilliant shot stopper on his day we all know that but was he quite as good as we wanted?

So we went for a very experienced keeper who Pep knows well and he clearly is quality with the ball at his feet but he has been awful. Can't get away from that and I have never tried to argue otherwise but the decision to move on from Joe, tough though it was, wasn't necessarily a bad one.

In any other position but where we are i.e challenging for every trophy I think Angus Gunn might have been given a go just as Pickford has been at Sunderland as I think Angus is at least his equal. But that's not the situation and we got Bravo. Quite right he was dropped and not soon enough. Weird that he was brought back on Saturday but I guess that was a bit of man management from Pep rightly or wrongly

Back to Spain. Never going to recover and is a bad fit Sadly. I saw a Joe Hart interview recently, I have to admit he came across great, Pep messed up here 100%. The Iceland game and Joe Chest pumping I think is the reason Pep panicked over Joe, Neither Willy or Bravo are in the same class. Never thought I would say it.

Clough, Summerbee both had at least one, in Summerbees case couple, of decent games. Bravo hadn't had one yet.

Apart from Jo I still haven't seen one suggestion that made me think "hmmmm....he may have a point there".

Ok. Name a worse one.

Gerry Creaney

Ged Brannan

Ousmano Dabo
Bernardo Corradi
Ben Thatcher
Darius Vassell

Darius was million times more useful to our team than Clownio is. Vassell wasn't good but he was useful at the time not harmful

I saw Healy and MaCrea, and can confirm that I saw them both make saves. That puts them at an advantage over Bravo instantly.
He is a keeper who is allergic to the ball.
He is the Lee Bradbury and Fat Bob of goal keepers.
Undoubtedly he is the worst keeper I've ever seen at City. And that includes Smon Treacy.
Maybe a bit to do to be considered our worst ever player though .

I think Jo is the standout, but the likes of Bony, Sinclair, Savić, Ben Haim and Nery Castillo were all pretty woeful.

Bravo at least has 4 clean sheets to his name, so it's possible one of those was a half-decent showing?

I'd just lump him with that illustrious lot, but if you want to micro even further, be my guest.

And keep in mind that's just the last 10 years or so, I reckon some Blues who've been around a lot longer will be able to provide a far more extensive assortment.

Let's be honest here NQDP, no matter who anyone suggests you're going to dismiss it so it's pointless.

Bravo had a good game at Spurs away, Swansea away, BMG not much to do but pulled off a cracking save from their one shot on target. There's been a couple of other good showings from him too.

Perhaps if, like Zaba appealed for, we showed him a bit of support instead of grumbling and groaning every time the ball is passed back to him in his first couple of months here he may have rediscovered his form. Making someone feel welcome rather than treating them like a pariah can do wonders for their self esteem.

Last season people, myself included, were criticising and questioning Hart. Rightly imo. That Bravo turned out to be poo, doesn't mean Hart is the answer.

Besides, allegedly the real reason Pep got rid is cos Joe and Tyson Fury got a bit close and enjoyed having too much "Pepsi" together

Given the size of the transfer fee at the time and how much that would have been as a percentage of our turnover back then, then Lee Bradbury is surely a worse player in terms of finance and what he cost the club. Not as if he was any good on the field either

'Fat Bob' Taylor, who was possibly even more appalling, cost us £1.5m in from Gillingham in 2000 - which was a lotta dosh in those days
