I think it was NottsBlue who alluded to this when, earlier in this thread, he wondered what they brought to the table, that youngsters such as Garcia and Diaz couldn't.

If we're going to play a weakened side, at this stage of the Cup, why don't we bring a few youngsters in ??

As has been said before, by all and sundry on this forum, they can't do any worse than some of the present squad players.

I'd have taken Fernando off rather than Delph.

What annoys me is that they've had no game time but then expected to be up for it from the start.

Me too. Though Delph was more involved than either of the Brazilians

Agreed.

Delphi was probably our most active attacking player after Aguero.

That's a valid point, and all of our fringe players might've done well playing with a more full strength eleven. But if you take out the spine of the team and field almost only fringe players their deficiencies will show.

Wow! Otamendi just stood up against a player and didn't dive in. Don't think I've seen that before.

I know mate, asking players to be 100% when they've not played or played together is a big ask. Only now is Pep starting to realise that Huddersfield are no pushover, probably panicking due to a possible replay.

Agreed. It is always difficult to have any cohesion with rusty players, who don't play together regularly.

Of course, but I've not seen that many clear cuts. How many of these have scored since Christmas, can't be many?

If you get paid as much as they do (and have been a professional for years) with a whole team of fitness coaches and nutritionists, there's no excuse. You're a pro, do your job.

Oh and good to see we're resting Kolarov for Tuesday...
