A lot of people didn't know who we were when we started in the Chumps league.

Agree about the snobbery. With a guaranteed Champions League spot for the winners you'd have to either be very well placed in your domestic league or stupid not to try to win it? Is a cup competition so surprises do happen. Remind me again who we beat in the final of the 1970 Cup Winners Cup?

You cannot compare the situation.

The major teams treat this competition without much interest because UEFA fails to offer them something reachable. For Genk or Gent, the UCL spot is the last thing on their mind. The Cup was more atractive when they had just two legs instead of groups until the letter L.

At least reduce the number of teams that get in there.
