Hilarious that Utd are in desperate need of a striker, and Diego Costa, who fits their boring style perfectly is easily available but I am gathering because of Mourinho and his relationship being so poor last season that it's not an option, and there are not exactly a lot of options out there for them. Atletico allegedly (again) in talks about signing him back.

Bayern just issued a warning about Lewandowski that they will report any meddling to FIFA to fend of Utd and Chelsea, saying "there have been no talks with other clubs and there won't be any."

"Say hello to my little £130m bid..."

re Dani Alves - so logically every footballer when interviewed before a match should 'respect' the opposition in case the opposition fans get insulted. How far should they go? Big up the opposition? You guys would be happy with say Vinny heaping praise on the opposition before a big match so the opposing fans dont get insulted?
I agree with Nool. Nothing wrong with what Alves said.

no idea what everyone's issue with Alves is. he was a top 5 RB in the world last season and single-handedly dragged Juve to the CL final.

i dont care what he said. for me, interviews are irrelevant. if he's a good player that will give his all on the pitch then i'm all for him coming.

Dani Alves grew up a farmer's boy in some Brazilian backwater and unsurprisingly didn't even know where Sevilla was before he moved there. Snowflakes who are offended by him not knowing an English at the time mid-table club should probably consider packing it in at this rate...

This a good read https://www.theplayerstribune.com/dani- ... he-secret/

Newcastle (unofficial voice) running with Fernando likely to sign for them imminently, we want £8M and they are trying to get for £5M....

There's some irony to be had here somewhere. There IS only one team in Manchester. The other one came 6th, rarely qualifies for the CL and bores the shit out of everybody.

He only has to re-clarify his statement. :D

I suppose if they only want us to pay them £5milliom to take Fernando it's not too bad. I'd just pay it and get rid.

In all seriousness though, we can't be held to ransom over a trifling £3 million price difference; it sets a precedent just a bridge too far. Newcastle aren't an impoverished Club and they're further boosted by the TV money.

£8 million is bad enough, but £5 million is a joke.

as long as it's not a loan as that would prevent him from playing against us if he signed for them

and it's in Trafford metropolitan borough not the city of Manchester.

Who gives a f*ck what some footballer's opinion is of City?

We are now one of the biggest clubs in the world. All we have to do is get on with it.

You're right LB, it's just that throughout the footballing world, there seems to be a great distaste, ill feeling and hatred towards City that has been unfairly generated and fuelled by Sky, the Media, UEFA, the FA, in fact by anyone and everyone.

If we had done anything to deserve this, then that would be fair enough but we haven't and that makes it hard to bear.

On that basis, it's quite understandable that City fans take exception to what they deem to be adverse, mocking, sarcastic or denigrating comments from wherever.

With that in mind, why shouldn't they be angry ??.

Hes nearly 30, barely played and probably on big wages. Anywhere between 5 and 8 is fair deal for me. I think he will do well there. We have plenty of players like him delph clichy etc who maybe not at our level but would be astutue signings for anyone outside top 6.

I dont like anyone else that has slagged off our team in the past and then the next day they want to play for us and want us all to forget what they said about us.

skill aside, you must've really disliked Clichy then and are happy he's gone.

Brace yourself my friends, an acquaintance of mine - who is acquainted with a personage connected with the club - tells me we are in for Willie (the Fridge) Carvalho.

I need a sit down, and a long one if this turns out true.

If you had paid more attention to the match threads you would know exactly what I thought of Clichy.
